September 24, 2009Rags-to-riches-rogue tale of a gangster which takes the traditional route of simultaneously showing what an unpleasant person he is as well as making the journey he takes exciting. Cassell is really good.

September 6, 2009The story of french gangster Jacques Mesrine, before he was called Public Enemy N°1. Since the beginning, i got excited. the beginning is wonderful. Also Vincent Cassel is easily the Frenchest man alive.

September 6, 2009First off...Vincent Cassel is easily the Frenchest man alive. Well paced, well directed, the fact that the passage of time is blatantly ignored is fantastic. Cassel is Electric in the lead role and his support do not let him down.

August 16, 2009Vincent Cassel is on fine form, as per usual, in the first part of this French gangster biopic, which more than holds its own against the recent Public Enemies, and whilst the use of 24-esque split-screen sequences doesn't really seem to fit, the pace of the action is just right ...( read more)
