MCT:October 12, 2007This was extremely boring and rather poorly made in my opinion. It's just wrong to have all the Japanese characters in the story speaking English!!! They NEED to be speaking Japanese with subtitles in English! The plane battles were awful, and you could never tell what the heck was happening until the Commanders got their battle summary reports and made some way over dramatic statement.

MCT:September 13, 2007Like Flixster says, "Midway feels more like a history lesson than a drama". Still, it is history I am only vaguely aware of, so that is fine, but the movie seems long. There are a lot of famous faces in the movie. This film uses a lot of actual battle footage.

The movie is not the best, but for me it brings back memories of being 13 and just getting into WWII and changes in my life at the time. It was sooooo impressive on the big screen in sens-a-round. It did hit on most of the historical points. Plus, I was just waiting for Charlton Heston to screem out "Get you filthy planes out of here, you damn dirty Japs!".

MCT:July 7, 2007I love old war moves, and this one is at the top. It has an all star cast. Some of the actual fight scenes are from the real battle.

MCT:June 8, 2007If you're a WW2 and history buff this is a must-rent. Though it does take some fictional liberties with some of the characters, namely Charlton Heston's, who ironically is the lead character, it still doesn't try to change history. Good Hollywood. Maybe you should do more of that.

This is one of my favorite war movies about the fall of the Janpanese Imperial Navy in WWII. It is start packed and many really live action shots where used in teh filming, and Henry Fonda, played the role of "CICPAC" twice in this movie, the first time, being in "In Harm's Way" with Otto Preminger. And a special treat with Toshiro Mifune as Adm. Isoroko Yamamoto and James Shigeta as Adm. Chuichi Nagumo.

Not as good as the original Pearl Harbor movie, Tora Tora Tora it does use some of the same war footage with a token love plot thrown in for the ladies.
