I think that I can safely pass on this one.

Very well acted and interesting story of Jane Austen.

This was an interesting Drama. Jane Austen and her novels are time and time again used as a source for movies, but this one is a refreshing look at the end of her life. I thought it would be too like 'Becoming Jane' but it wasn't. It picks up after that section of Janes life. I r...( read more)eally did like 'Miss Austen regrets but I was uncomfortable with the character of Jane. In this version of her life she is ambitious beyond what most writers/directors usually pretray her. She talks about money ALOT. Also she is a complete flirt. We dont know enough about Janes life to know that she wasn't like this but for some reason it did make me fell uncomfortable. I did however love the relationship shown between her and her family, especially with her niece and her brother, who was protrayed in a surprising gentle and wonderful way by Adrian Edmindson who is more often seen bashing people over the head with sausepans! lol!

Stand out performance from Olivia Williams as witty but rather acerbic and slightly stroppy Jane Austen in a non chocolate box costume drama from the BBC. You can't ignore that Austen never married and died young. No idea how many liberties were taken with Jane's character, but t...( read more)his was an absorbing look at what she MIGHT have been like

Wasn't bad, seemed a good portrayal of Austen's life.

This is a brilliant period drama done by the BBC, and thoroughly watchable. A bit of an untold story about Jane Austen herself. Definitely worth checking out if you are able.
