When I've watched the trailer of this movie, I was not really excited, because the story line it seemed to be so original and it really is. The general idea of the movie is very unique and really interesting. The movie shows stories of the destiny and pain of three women generat...( read more)ions through 30's, 60's and 80's. Although, just a few people can understand this story without prejudicy just because it's an asian production. However, it's a must see for every human being who still has a heart and a tribute to all Mothers and everything we need to do by ourselves ... mainly bearing and raising our children 'alone'.
The literal translation of the chinese title is: "Jasmine blossoms". After watching this masterpiece, I definitely put this movie on my favs list of all time!

I guess it wasn't really anything groundbreaking, but it was interesting. I liked the performances and the concept of having the same actresses play multiple generations of a family.

This film has a wonderful story. It showed us the life of women in different decades with very different characters. The setting is from 1930s to 1980s.
What a magnificent performance from Zhang Ziyi. She played 3 characters with very different personalities and I must say she p...( read more)layed each character heartfully. She is a great actress and she proved it. Joan Chen had great performance too. She played 2 characters.
I really like the ending scene when Hua gave birth in the street. I must say I could give Ziyi standing ovation because she was so great and of course, the character was great too.

It was good. It's about 3 generations, in the same family and what happens during their lives. Was a little slow or I was tired while watching it, either way, it was alright. I'd recommend it; at least once.

This was a little slow, but good. Zhang Ziyi is a very good actress and she does a very good job. I just don't care for movies that use the same actresses for the daughter, then the mom, then the daughter, then the mom; use different actresses for these rolls. This movie was good though.

    Take care all,
