The Pet is an alternate title for the family-oriented Monkey Trouble. Nine-year-old Thora Birch wants a pet. She manages to get her hands on a capucin monkey, previous owned by gypsy pickpocket Harvey Keitel. Now she has to keep her new companion hidden from her parents--and to keep the monkey, who has been trained as a jewel thief, from robbing everyone in the neighborhood blind. Meanwhile, Keitel had better retrieve the little beast, lest he incur the wrath of a crime boss to whom he is indebted.
