Surprisingly funny! The Black Knight lets no one pass - "That's just a flesh wound!" and the Knights who say Ni - "You must chop down the tallest tree in the forest ... with a herring!" And Tim the Enchanters warning about the Evil Bunny Haha.
Black Knight: Right, I'll do you for that!
King Arthur: You'll what?
Black Knight: Come here!
King Arthur: What are you gonna do, bleed on me?
Black Knight: I'm invincible!
It was suggested amongst a gathering of friends that we watch Holy Grail, and I started with just some Knights of Ni! and was soon reciting my favourite skits. Twenty minutes later, my monologue concluded with, "Yeah we've totally gotta watch it right now!". Silence and astounded looks held for several seconds until one friend said, "I think we just did."
People tend to think this is the best python, but I disagree. More people should see the other movies. But with that out of the way. This is still hilarious, your sides will split!
We watched some of this during social studies this year, I love it when the knight gets all of his limbs cut off in the forest and is like "we will call it a draw" LOL
You can never really go wrong with a Monty Python movie, and this one is no exception. And "Sir not appearing in this film" is pretty cool as well, :D!
This has got to be one of the greatest films of all time. I'm always quoting something from it. ANY fan of British humour, or comedy in general, MUST see it at least once!
AAAAAHHHH finally had a good moment to watch this masterpiece.......i loved the black knight, the chanting monks, the dead historian, The Knights of Ni and soooo many more....its what british comedy should be....witty and freaking hilarious...........WAY BETTER THAN LIFE OF BRIAN!!!
this was HILARIOS!!!!! i LOVED it!!! it was so funny, the deadly rabbit, the coconuts, the land of aaaaaa, everything was so hilarious. all of the monty python stuff is so funny.
I liked the beginning credits, the monks chanting, and kind of that knight dude person guarding the bridge LOL. But that was about it! The ending was stupid! LOL
Monty Python and the Holy Grail was hillarious, but also really stupid. I really like some parts in this movie, but there are also parts so stupid and pointless that you want to fast-forward.
First time I went to see this movie, I walked out on it! When my then boyfriend phoned to ask how I liked the movie, I found myself laughing as I told him why I walked out. I then went back to the theater and there began my long fulfilling affair with Monty Python humor! "your mother was a hamster, and your father smelled of elderberry. lol
I fart in your general direction!!! soooo manylines I have used throughout my life..
oh my gosh. do not watch this unless you have a taste for unbelievably stupid spoof movies. i watched it, and even though i laughed practially through the whole thing, i wouldn't watch it again. the black night (as in the kind that carried a sword) was the best part in the whole movie.
very stupidly funny.
I know i might get hexed for only giving it 3 1/2 stars but I think it's just a good movie not a great one. I would give it 5 stars if this was just a originality contest but its not.(nn)
