MCT:September 3, 2008It may be a rehashing of skits from Flying Circus, but just watching these same skits again yet with better cinematography redeems it.

MCT:August 30, 2008Wow ,um ok where to start,Yes first of all My hubby owes me a chick flick for asking me to watch this.This is the 2nd Monty Python film I have ever watched,it didn't get easier.The logical part of my brain tries to make sense of the movie the entire time,to the extent that I can hardly watch it.Then he explained it wasn't supposed to make any sense whatsoever so I just chilled and went wih it.I think the insane artwork in tis movie is Amazing to say the least,what an imagination! Everything else is just utter nonsense.I will have to admit I laughed so hard my ribs were killing me during the Race for the Utimate Twit or whatever or Lord,I haven't laughed that hard for that long in a very long time.I don't know maybe it's just me and I don't get bristish humor or something.If you like stupid, silly movies like my husband does you will love this,If you are more like me,watch it with him anyway,He can just owe you favors later =)

First time I saw this I laughed so hard I wanted to flee the theater, was going crazy. Love it still.

Featuring the best of the Python's comedy sketches, this movie is pure genius - most of the sketches are remakes, and pretty much funnier than the original.
With sketches such as the Dead Parrot, the Lumberjack Song, and People falling from a Building - this movie is hilarious! -

I really am unable to say which is my favourite sketch. I do love the "Upper-class Twit of the Year" though but all of them are great!

FANTASTIC MOVIE! Hysterical skits, etc but what can you expect? It's MONTY PYTHON! I recommend this to all :-D

I loved this film.....seriously cant believe i didnt see this b4..........all the sketches were really funny........especially the 'granny thugs'.......'the funniest joke'......'the lumberjack'........'the upperclass twits'......overall a great movie!

A good movie. One that would be better watching it with a group.
If you have seen the series, then there would be no need to watch this one as it is a bunch of their sketches from their tv show. It has been along time since I have seen the show, that I did enjoy the movie though.
Does your wife like photo's? Nudge, nudge, wink wink?

It was just a collection of sketches from the show, but for a long time it was the only bit of flying circus I could find on video.

"THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!"
The Monty Python troupe scored much success with their long-running TV series Monty Python's Flying Circus. This introduced the world to a very unique style of British humour, and also gave the Monty Python troupe a big name. This was a positive when it came time to release the first film outing of the Monty Python gang.
And Now For Something Completely Different is essentially a very amusing anthology of famous, memorable (very silly) skits from their former TV show that are given an elaborate reworking. The production values are a whole lot better and the scripts have also been altered. During some of their memorable skits the higher production values equalled improvement over the original TV show version. However some of the more classic Monty Python moments were of higher standard when first broadcast in Flying Circus.
And Now For Something Completely Different has got all the basics...Dead Parrot, Lumberjack Song, Upper Class Twit of the Year, Self Defence Against Fresh Fruit, Marriage Guidance and several others, so you know you're all set. Much of the dynamic skits are of the usual outrageously hilarious Monty Python standard we've come to appreciate over the years; random humour, cerebral humour and slapstick humour. If you like the comedy style utilised by the Pythons you will without doubt have a tremendously fun time. If you're not a fan of the Pythons this is probably one to avoid.
Unless you count the numerous sub-plots that vary between skits, there is absolutely no discernable plot or storyline to speak of. The whole film is an extended episode of the former TV show; funny skits that are stitched together with a few transitional shots that take the random humour even further (for the most part these transitional shots are just random images of people saying "And now for something completely different"). I think it's pretty much impossible to get sick of such great Monty Python skits, and in my opinion it's impossible not to find the Python troupe's amusing antics anything short of hilarious.
I have been a fan of Monty Python for years and I am never disappointed in their unique humour. And Now For Something Completely Different is a fantastic film that supplies a number of great laughs and can make a rainy afternoon go by in no time. This is a reminder of the outstanding work the team were capable of producing when they were in their prime. The first Monty Python film is a top-notch effort on everyone's part. For the Python fans, this is absolutely unmissable. After the success of this film the Pythons were then given the green light to make Monty Python and the Holy Grail. -

brilliant 1 of the best films ever made great for a saturday night movie..this is a compleation of the sketch shows from the amazing tv show Monty Phyton n the flying circus which is a great tv show thats really brilliantly performed acted by these amazing 6 individuals...this is just so funny its bloody brilliant 2 watch

Pile poil le type de film qui correspond parfaitement à la demande d'une gang d'amis fatigués à minuit dans l'appartement de Moutarde. Tout ça pour dire que les gags sont hilarants et que l'absurdité est corrosive, que l'humour brittanique écorche et ne laisse survivre aucun rescapé, aussi frigide son sens de l'humour puisse-t-il être. Dire que ce sont tous les cinq-six même hommes qui ont écrits, réalisés et joués leurs propres sketchs. C'est un exploit colossal, dans la mesure où les comédies de qualité se font rares.
Quand on y pense longuement, l'humour brittanique n'est pas si différent de l'humour hollywoodien qu'il le paraît. À la base, les gags sont du même type: absurdes. Alors, pourquoi donc est-ce que le premier type est démentiel et que le second est merdique? Peut-être parce que, au bout du compte, c'est la manière de traiter les gags qui diffèrent, qu'on a trop voulu affubler l'humour de ridicule, de vulgarité et de sexualité dans les comédies populaires qui se produisent au nombre d'une centaine par mois.

Very decent Monty Python outing is essentially a very amusing collection of skits from their former TV show, 'Monty Python's Flying Circus', given an elaborate reworking. It's got all the basics...Dead Parrot, Lumberjack Song, Upper Class Twit of the Year and many others, so you're all set. All the skits are of the usual outrageously hilarious Monty Python standard we've come to appreciate over the years.
