Monty Python's last film and probably the one with all the best songs. It's a long sketch show in essence and with skits such as Mr. Creosote, it's the funniest one to date!

I just don't dig Monty Python. I am not a big fan of british comedy in general. I do love Terry Gilliam though which is odd. I understand the hype over Python but this one definitely did not do it for me. I prefer The Holy Grail if I am to watch one.

There's a lot of funny stuff in there, but most of it just goes on forever.

Althought not their best, the Python crew managed to once again successfully mock of all british so-called sacrosanct establishments.

My goodness. Prepare to be befuddled, confused, shocked, overwhelmed and so on. The Python boys are at it again, in the most shocking way. Yet at the same time, we love them, because they're utterly and completely hilarious. From their ridiculous perspective on Catholics and cont...( read more)raception to the Grim Reaper, The Meaning of Life will have you in stitches.

The least of Python's theatrical outtings does not mean it is the worst. This is a terrific film and a proper forerunner for Gilliam's future work.

The Python movie most like the original show. Witty, with memorable scenes, but all over the place.

    Lots of scenes to quote

More of the Monty Python humour, and still ridiculously funny.
One key thing, it's for more mature audiences than you would think.

    Some quotes:
"'Bit bare in here today, isn't it?'
    'Yeees.'
    'More apparatus please, nurse.'
    'Yes doctor.'
'Yes, the EEG, the BP monitor and the AVV, please.'
'And get the machine that goes pinghhh!'
'And get the most expensive machines in case the administrator comes.'"
"'Yes, there's the head. Yes, four centimetres, five, six centimetres...'
'Lights! Amplify the ping machine. Masks up! Suction! Eyes down for a full house! Here it comes!'
    'And frighten it!'
    'And the rough towels!'
    'Show it to the mother.'
'That's enough! Right. Sedate her, number the child. Measure it, blood type it and... isolate it.'
    'OK, show's over.'"
