Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"Adults may long for a bit more impetus in the lackadaisical narrative. But younger viewers will be entranced by the child-like wonder the Moon Man inspires in others."
‑ Trevor Johnston, Time Out
"Charmingly animated but a little unfuelled in its plotting."
‑ David Parkinson, Empire Magazine
"The animated images are quirky-funny; the multi-accent English-language dialogue is a delight; the story has wacky charm."
‑ Nigel Andrews, Financial Times
"With a simple story and a huge amount of imagination, this gentle animated adventure feels like a blast of fresh air when compared to entertaining but formulaic Hollywood studio animation."
‑ Rich Cline,
"It's recommended if you adore handmade children's picture books, lovely colours and compositions, trad animation and quirky humour which never, ever panders to pop culture."
‑ Andrew Osmond, SFX Magazine
"A lo-fi delight, blending old-school storytelling with a whiff of head-shop trippiness."
‑ Xan Brooks, Observer [UK]
"Utterly delightful children's story with gorgeous storybook-style animation, a warm-hearted script, quietly quirky characters and a superb soundtrack."
‑ Matthew Turner, ViewLondon
"Ultimately, Schesch and Weber's deliberate rhythms prove to be an asset, as the lunar hero explores the wonder of this world, refusing to get roped into anybody's action-plot."
‑ Noel Murray, The Dissolve
"There's a refreshing lack of snark to recommend Moon Man: this is a movie that has heart and imagination where most animations are happy to make do with a hippo in a tutu."
‑ Tara Brady, Irish Times
"An interesting alternative to Hollywood entertainment."
‑ Peter Bradshaw, Guardian
"Light and subtly satirical, it's a refreshing reminder that sometimes less can be more."
‑ Stephen Kelly, Total Film
