Critic Reviews

  • Ken Tucker, New York Magazine

Mr. & Mrs. Smith works on almost every level and against all odds.

  • Andrew Sarris, New York Observer

Have we lost our minds and souls so completely to celebrity worship that drivel like Mr. and Mrs. Smith can thrive and prosper?

  • Richard Roeper, Ebert & Roeper

    Very good.

  • Geoff Pevere, Toronto Star

A movie so in love with itself it hardly needs us at all.

  • Jonathan Rosenbaum, Chicago Reader

The studio must have reasoned that Jolie and Brad Pitt are movie stars, so anything they do would be seen as fun and attractive -- and what could be more fun and attractive than their trying to kill each other and just about everybody else in the movie?

Mr and Mrs Smith isn't without its faults. The film's entire second half is populated with a lot of explosions that grow slightly boring but the lead roles perform perfectly well together and its enough for it to be an overall enjoyable flick.

I actually liked, it amused me, gave me action and didn't shy away from the 'all guns blazing' theme, Brad and Angelina are now both top grade actors and I believe they got that reputation from this.
