Mr. Smith Goes to Washington Reviews and Ratings

Seen about half an hour of this but it didn't seem like something I'd get into, its far too American to even relate to, not into politics either, I don't even know what a senator is if I'm being honest and that sort of stuff is what its all about.

  • June 13, 2007
James Stewart gives one of the best performances of his career as the naive, but determined senator. The story is somewhat like "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town" and was orginally going to be called "Mr. Deeds Goes to Washington" but was changed when the studio Gary Cooper was under contr...( read more)act to refused to lend him out. The result? A better movie, in my opinion. No one could play the role of Mr. Smith better than Stewart. A stellar inspirational story that leaves you rooting for Stewart throughout the entirety of the film.
