Absolutely, the best movie ever made! No other movie has ever inspired me like this!

Mr. Smith's naivety is purely beautiful, and the perfect foil for corrupt American politics. A sharp, still relevant political commentary that nonetheless makes you feel good about being an American.

    Classic James Stewart

Jimmy Stewart: the Underdog. This movie always makes me want to be in politics...or Jean Arthur. *wink wink*

    Good ol' Jimmy Stewart!
  • June 12, 2006
A must for everyone, theres no question about that. One of Jimmy Stewarts finest roles.
  • June 7, 2006
Finally, a movie that actually makes politics seem interesting. And holy crap, Jimmy Stewart's filibuster at the end! Wowza.
  • June 6, 2006
Corruption in politics and the filibuster. Gee, how topical. I wonder how many aspiring politicians have seen this movie, told themselves that they wanted to be just like Jeff Smith, then finally made it to the hallowed halls of congress only to find that they could not be the ...( read more)next Jeff Smith. Still, everyone who would become a politican should see this movie and take it to heart.

To give Capra his due--once again--this really is a wonderful film. Everyone who recalls this undoubtedly thinks of Jimmy Stewart. He is great. But it's the way these actors work together that makes this one, replete with admittedly gooey, even schlokey, moments, a great success.

Jean Arthur, Claude Rains, Edward Arnold, and Thomas Mitchell all do excellent jobs in their greater and lesser roles. And I believe that's mostly due to a master director, Frank Capra.

A rousing classic film about politics and the media. Capra knew how to inspire! Stewart knew how to portray the every-man.

The best scene in the movie is when the Senator sends out the goons to take out the Boy Scouts... PRICELESS!!!

A more Patrotic film you will not find. One of Capra's best ever. A gripping, exhilarating drama. Attacks the corrupt powerful political machine of Washington politics full on. The end secene is riveting, stirring and triumphant.

It's good. Very Capra-corn. But it has a weak resolution and just isn't as good as his other works.
