LOVE it. James Stewart, young and riled up.
Jean Arthur is so sexy. This film annoyed me during the Happy American propaganda montage, and I was sick of it by the time Saunders sheds a tear at Sen. Smith's idyllic boys' camp proposal. I did love the phrase "Christmas tiger", though.
A kinder, gentler pov on the legislature and our history. Thomas Mitchell gets a role with a bit of meat. Stewart is flawless in this movie. The ending is a trifle too quick.
Mile-a-minute yet sentimental. Great entertaining film that is timeless on a number of levels.
incase you didn't already know it, this movie proves that jimmy stewart was one of the greatest actors that ever lived and ever will live.
Excellent - I like the moral that one man is trying to do good while the other is crooked and making the good guy look really bad, until one breaks.
This is good. Watch it ... please! This is great! classic, old, but remains classic and love the old.
great preformace from jimmy stewart..... they made a remake if u want to watch the remake its called Mr. Deeds goes to town
Every lousy politician will probably say they've seen this and love it... but they sure don't GET IT. Ultimate pic about our government gone wrong... and this was made in 1939. 70 years later, we still haven't got it right.
I have no idea why James Stewart didn't win an Oscar for this movie - his performance is absolutely riveting. And the movie's quality is raised significantly because of it.
The true embodiment of good against evil. James Stewart is incredible in this.
Jimmy Stuart...one of the best delivers another brilliant performance.
The greatest Frank Capra film ever made, and that's saying something! Jimmy Stewart's best performance. If only the real senators could be so inspired.
One of the best films i have ever seen, James Stewart is marvellous. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere and energy
an excelent movie with jimmy stuart and it realy chalenged the legislative branch and all it's representatives.
A classic if there every was one. This is a must-see. It could not be any more poignant to the state of today's politics. It's very inspiring and sad, at the same time.
My second favorite movie starring Jimmy has a slow start but an absolutely incredible ending.
One of the greats, the story and execution are superb. Jimmy Stewart's performance at the end is truly one of his best.
The only thing I didn't like was that Jimmy Stewert didn't seem to go right out and say that it was all the other guy's fault and that he himself was blameless.
I just saw this movie, fantastic. Capra and Stewart can do no wrong. If you have never seen it, its worth the rental.
Brilliant! So relevant to politics today too. It makes you realize how little has changed over the years. Politicians still play dirty but thankfully there are still people with integrity to stand up for what's right no matter the cost!
An idealistic, small-town senator heads to Washington and suddenly finds himself single-handedly battling ruthless politicians out to destroy him.
