Matalo is certainly quite the movie, a fantastic rock soundtrack, hippie cowboys, a camera constantly spinning around everywhere. I liked the mood, and having almost no dialogues works, the problem is the rather limited interactions between the few characters that populate the film. The lead bandit, the mistress, that dude with that chain, there are some tensions between them, but they never pay off. Seeing someone fight armed men with a boomerang is not as cool as it might sound. Also, ejecting the coolest actor in the movie so early on kills any chance this might had from being more than just an oddball movie.
