or maybe Lynch doesn't have an explanation for it, so he's trying to be all smart about it by refusing to explain the movie!
i believe that what this movie makes so brilliant is ...that it forces you to pay attention to the little details , like the part where the camera makes a look to the pair of legs, when they are on their way to the room number 12 ..and i trudly believe that it can be completely interpreted
dont worry i dont get it either, probably coz i kept falling to sleep because this movie was so boring
one of the greatest movies ever made, doesn't need an explanation, it's better without one.
I find it quite funny when this film is compared to Memento. This film has you noticing new hidden, subtle messages after the umpteenth viewing, whereas Memento is, although entertaining, quite self explanatory really.
Lots of people seem to think this movie is great but nobody ever came up with a good reason for it.
Its not like I was some dude who prefers blockbusters, I love good movies but I dont think Mullholland Drive isnt that great.
Prove me wrong and I'll agree with you though ... but nobody ever got to prove to me it was great.
A movie of such a calibre doesn't need an explanation. It would be disgraced by one.
Lynch himself refuses to explain his films. He leaves it to the viewer to make their own interpretation rather than put up signposts. He is a director who rewards an audience that is willing to invest in his work.
No, I don't think there should have been an explaination; that's what makes it so great. With everytime you watch it, you notice something different, and you have a different view on what it all meant. Because of the unclear ending, this movie has really stuck with me and has haunted my dreams. It's a masterpiece and is utter perfection the way it is.
This movie is really messed up. There should have been more of an explanation at the end.
