Critic Reviews

  • Betsy Sherman, Boston Globe

The movie has a clever premise that will appeal to all ages!

  • Eleanor Ringel Gillespie, Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Teletubbies may come and go, but Muppets are forever.

  • Michael Wilmington, Chicago Tribune

Doesn't have the right awe and wonder!

  • Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

The new Muppets movie lacks the kind of excitement the first ones generated.

  • Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly

The Muppets were once devilish and sly, but this ploddingly whimsical musical caper, which uses too many '70s soul songs to signify its rainbow-demographic cred, is enough to make you want to see them get slapped around by the Teletubbies!

No, no, no... We didn't need or want to know that Gonzo is an alien. I love Gonzo, but I love him as the weirdo of the group, the one who doesn't belong, many of us identify with that. This movie says, oh guess what, Gonzo isn't weird at all, he belongs somewhere, and… More

A case of, the last good flick before the franchise lost its way, this is more fun Muppet mayhem but starting to lose their nack. The beginning sequence as all the Muppets wake up and have a good sing song is brilliant, show stopper for sure. Other nice moments include the Undercover… More

This is one of the better Muppet movies because we get discover what Gonzo really is: an alien! This one has a pretty good story and like all the others, its hilarious! The puppets and celebrity cameos by David Arquette and Hollywood Hogan are hilarious. Great writing as well. You can… More

Sadly, I was expecting more.... I LOVED the old Muppet Movies that were so clever, but this was mainly directed at kid humor with not enough for adults to appreciate it. Sad, Muppets usually carry a huge potential.
