I can't say that this movie was amazing for story line or anything but I laughed my ass off almost the whole movie. It's basically like a male alternative to a "chick flick". Year it's rude and crude but.... IT"S DANE COOK! if you went in thinking that it would be anything less then your just dumb, The trailers showed you exactly what you are getting.
One thing that I loved about this movie is that it wasn't so fake. most guys in chick flicks are so wonderful then they just make one mistake and spend the rest of the movie trying to fix it till everyone lives happily ever after. This movie isn't like that at all.
One last thing I liked is that I couldn't have predicted just how far he would go to mess things up, so the shock value of almost everything he says is awesome. Everyone in the Theater I was in was laugh through the movie too. I can't believe it got such a bad rating here but I guess I've also seen movies on here with high ratings that just sucked. whatever.

Dane Cook continues his streak of fecal-like films, still hitless, inept to transform his cock dick stand-up humor into a good comedy. One dimensional premise, a Jason Biggs mainstay. Kate Hudson is like a double glazed chicken crisper.

Of course, there are some genuinely funny moments in this romantic comedy film, largely thanks to Dana Cook, who has the 'cocky charmer' thing completely down. These women who dated Cook keep calling him an asshole so does Kate Hudson, but she drives herself madly in love with him. Kate Hudson is fantastic in her brave performance like her mother, Goldie Hawn. And speaking of Jason Bigg, he's good in this too, still playing like a loser - his 'eyebrows' scene is a real rib-tickler!

Funnier than I expected! Considering I'd never heard a single word about this, I instantly assumed it'd be nothing special. You know, the kind of movie you just see because you got nothing better to do, as opposed to looking forward to watching. But as much as it surprised me, it was actually way better than I could have hoped. The dialogue is great and the story really interesting, as I kept wondering what was gonna happen next. Also, it's a very honest film, and I could really relate to a lot that was going on. Especially as it comes to Jason Biggs's character, who (as much I hate admitting it) sort of felt like an american version of me at times. Anyway, so be sure not to mistake this for just another run-of-the-mill "chick flick", because it's much better than that, and offers a storyline that can be enjoyed regardless of your gender.

You have to feel sorry for Dane Cook. He must not be getting A caliber scripts if he has to resort to starring in a 180 degree remake of a film he did six months before. Let's go back to 2007. Good Luck Chuck. Cook plays a guy who women use to find their true love and get married. 2008- Cook stars in My Best Friend's Girl, a film that finds Cook being paid by men so that the women they love can see how bad they could really have it. I know you can argue that it's not the same movie but it's just as predictable and just as bad.
Tank (Cook) is hired by his roomate/relative Dustin (Jason Biggs) to date his "girlfriend" Alexis (Kate Hudson) so that she'll go running back into his arms and they'll get married and blah, blah, blah. So you know what happens? Yeah! Tank and Alexis fall in love much to Dustin's dissatisfaction and the typical, mindless romantic comedy stuff plays out as usual. Alec Baldwin pops up as Tank's sex maniac Women's studies professor father.
The main problem with My Best Friend's Girl is that the characters are very wishy washy. Alexis and Dustin are on a date, but you don't see where there's really an chemistry between leading you to wonder why in the hell he would hire Tank in the first place, other than it's in the script. Dustin is obsessed and Alexis likes Dustin, but has sex with Tank to make herself better for Dustin who it seems she doesn't really give a shit about to begin with. It's sad when the scum bags played by Cook and Baldwin have more credibility than the two decent and normal people in the film.
This film is your typical throw away garbage that the studio puts out in the dead box office times of year in hopes that people on dates need a movie to go see. Hopefully anyone who saw My Best Friend's Girl as part of a date didn't skimp on dinner.

it's fun, it's brash, it's fast and it's loose and i'm not talkin' 'bout yer kitty in heat, but about this rather questionable entertainment effort. it's the second movie i saw this weekend wherein the lead is an "asshole"---but, get this, he's doin' it ON PURPOSE, so it's alright!. this one does it so that they, the women in the world of dating, having no sense of their own and infatuated with "bad guys" get their comeuppance and learn to appreciate the regular schmucks they usually disdain. which is only as silly as half a dozen similar efforts i've seen this year. no better, no worse, only this one...there is a distastefully appalling lack of appreciation for morality here that was decidedly uncomfortable. hudson is talked into sleeping with strange men so as to complete her limited education, and so she does, and no one, but no one (no one except the shmuck who loves her from afar) seems to think anything at all about the sad implications of following such a course. it was like watching a 90 minute infomercial about the joys of unrestricted sex for the hell of it...and i hope i'm not selling this by saying that.

Imagine a movie where it feels like you are a seal and the seal is trying to swim away from the big ship that says *commercial product name here*. That product is chasing after you with a big beacon and a bunch of sailors that keep swearing and cursing and calling you a "f***ing c***bag seal" and you swim away saying Oh god oh no oh God oh no I can't go yet, and this is about the time that this joke has gone on for too long and is not funny or easy to remember.
That long intro is pretty much the basis of My Best Friend's Girl, a movie that was created just to have a bunch of elongated Dane Cook jokes that miss the point. No one wants to hear a joke longer than Jason Brigg's head, let alone over twenty.
This unoriginal script is about a guy wanting to get the girl, and a guy who does not but in the end does. This formula has been done better so many times, and this chauvinistic sex-romp was not needed. So many jokes about sex and genitalia that it would even make Ron Jeremy feel that this movie is redundant, and trust me that is saying something.
This movie is stale, and I mean that in the most complimentary way. This movie seems like it were written by two fifteen year olds who had discovered a pornographic website and thought "lol dan coko is da best eva les mak @ funee movee". Dane Cook is rarely and barely funny, but a) rarely and barely funny does not save a film, and b) the times he is slightly funny are not in this film at all. You should rather get a bunch of youtube clips of his live shows, put them in a playlist and hit randomize and you'd get a better, more cohesive film than this crap heap.
As for Kate Hudson, seriously. Come on. You are NOT that bad of an actress; give yourself some credibility! First How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days, then Fool's Gold, etc, and now this? You have been in films WAY better than this, and it's not as if you are not good enough to star in credible movies.
This film is stupid. I can no longer listen to the song by The Cars without wanting to shove a needle into my eye. The jokes are as funny as watching a pig eat a banana...
...Wait that is actually hilarious. No, this film is not that funny. This film is trashy trash: Garbage laced in vulgarities that have no purpose. If this is My Best Friend's Girl, she is definitely a butterface.

Keep An Eye Out For: When Jason Briggs gives Kate Hudson "When Harry Met Sally". This is a key reminder that there are actually good romantic comedies out there, and ones you should rather watch. Oh, and Diora Baird is always nice.

It's still a little far fetched that Dane Cook is such a "head turner", but I laughed out loud at least five times during this movie. Way better than Good Luck Chuch!

Dane Cook was much better in Good Luck Chuck and Employee of the Month than in this film. Kate Hudson and Jason Biggs do an ok job with their roles. Alec Baldwin steals each scene that he is in. I did like the the songs in the movie. Howard Deutch has directed better films than this.

Ne mogu da kažem da nije bilo gledljivo, ali moram vam reći da sam mogao ići dalje kroz život i bez ovog filma... ionako nije ostavio traga u meni... što je šteta kada u glavnoj ulozi imamo Dane Cook-a (GOOD LUCK CHUCK) i pored njega Kate Hudson. Hudson kao Alexis ima posebnog šarma u ovom filmu (iako me jako podsetila na Jennifer Lopez ali bez svih njenih najboljih “osobina”) o muškarcu koji živi od toga da, za nadoknadu, izađe sa njihovim devojkama i “oživi” vezu tako što će praviti budalu od sebe i obezbediti im najgori mogući izlazak u životu (posle čega njihovi momci izgledaju kao zlato)…

Režiser Howard Deutch i scenarista Jordan Cahan pokušavaju da kompenzuju što se moglo, ali, po mom mišljenju, neuspešno… ipak, ne bih ocenio jako negativno ovaj film jer nije ni zamišljen kao neko remek-delo već zabava za utorak ili sredu uveče kada je najdosadnije…

Dane Cook's Tank got a special talent; you pay him to go out with your girlfriend just so that after one horrific dating experience, your loved one will appreciate you a lot more, and get back into your arms.
Tank's best friend and roommate Dustin (the dorky clueless wrack of guy Jason Biggs) is a complete loser, and madly in love with his co-worker Alexis (the sexy Kate Hudson). After weeks of dating, things are going nowhere so when Dustin confesses to Alexis that he loves her, Alexis suggests that they just remain friends....the kiss of death.
Desperate Dustin resorts to asking Tank to get Alexis back for him but predictably Tank ends up falling in love with Alexis.
This movie was so fun to watch and filled with great one-liners and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a great laughs, and you're not worried about the crudity and lewdness.
