A pretty average slasher film and definitely based around the 3-D, it uses as many scenes as it can for this effect. I only saw it on DVD but you can just tell what scenes, effects were done for the 3-D parts. Very bloody and gory in places, with a slight twist if you can call it...( read more) that. Overall pretty good but no doubt more fun in 3-D mode.

Ugh, this movie is a mess. And not a fun mess either. Clearly constructed around the 3D gimmick, which looks like total shit on DVD, My Bloody Valentine really doesn't have any other redeeming qualities. The glasses made me want to throw up after about half an hour. Basically, yo...( read more)u had to catch it in the theaters or its worth will be completely lost on you. In my opinion, any film that becomes obsolete within two months of its initial release just shouldn't have been made at all.

There are fun bits, but nothing pertaining to the totally uncreative kills or the sloppy jump scares. I'm talking about bits where the heroine hits the murderer with a piece of meat, or a bizarrely small woman owning a motel. Otherwise this is about as competently assembled as a Lifetime movie with acting to match. Jensen Ackles is stunningly, sensationally bad. He is able to project literally one expression: glassy-eyed nonchalance. Jaime King may have a future as a scream queen, but a lot of her dramatic material seems slow and underperformed, like she's not really paying attention. Kerr Smith is probably the least offensive of the three. Also any actor over the age of 40 chewed the scenery so much that it hurt. If it wasn't intentional, they should feel ashamed of themselves, but if it was then it wasn't funny.

On that note, I can understand people defending this as a homage to B-movie slashers, which is all well and good, but the pieces just aren't there. It's low-energy, bereft of quirk or innovation, and plays out as derivative more than referential. It feels too glossy and commercial to be anything respectful like a homage. This was clearly just a shitty movie commissioned by some savvy businessman who knew that a 3D horror flick with flying viscera would turn a bit of coin. Totally skippable.

Atrocious, mean spirited slasher film exists simply to showcase one grisly death after another. Weak plot concerns a psychopathic miner who apparently returns to wreck havoc on the citizens of the town of Harmony exactly 10 years after his original killing spree. Gratuitous vi...( read more)olence and gore does not equal scary. In fact, the most horrifying thing about the film is the acting. Without the 3D effects, there is NOTHING to recommend about this film.

Awesome to see Jensen on the big screen. He was fabulous, and having the movie in 3-D was terrific !

    Typical teenager movie.
3D sucked ass for the most part.

I guess it was okay, confuses me when it comes to the question "Why" for killing random masses of people. Also confused me when the dude came back randomly after 10 years and started murdering people.

It was a very corny film, but I enjoyed it somewhat. Some of the acting was just mediocre. I prefer the original.
