From ...( read more  read more... )legless Xenia, who joyously plays a dead biker for Halloween, to Joe, a frustrated 15-year-old with cystic fibrosis who regularly makes angry threats, the siblings act out a whole range of coping mechanisms as Susan negotiates her way through providing them a stable home.

This documentary is capable of changing a person's entire point of view on life. Not many movies can succeed in that, so for that reason only it is one of the greatest documentaries I have ever seen. It's an emotional roller-coaster.

Adopting just one of these children would be a daunting task. I can't imagine caring for 11 special needs children. God bless Susan Tom!

Hard to watch at times, but well worth the ride. This angel of a lady deserves some kind of award, if she hasn't already.

No words of mine can do this film the justice it deserves. Its humanity changed my perspective on life.

A very engaging doc about a woman's unorthodox family, comprised of 13 kids, most with varying degrees of physical or mental disabilities. Documentary in the year of one mom and 11 special needs children. NOT what you will expect. Susan Toms (the mother) said she did not want a sugary sweet depiction - well it's certainly not. There's more than the children's disabilities going on here - very interesting film. One of my all time favorite Documentaries. So beautifully made and so interesting. I only wish there was more. I wish it was longer.

I'm not normally into these type of documentaries. I only watched this because my wife rented it.

This is worth a watch. Sometimes you forget how much someone has to sacrifice to show love to another. This helped me remember that if I am blessed enough to be able to live a "normal" life, then I need to spend it helping those who aren't. 1
