Aside from the explosions, foot chases and staged fights, this movie is simply lacking zing and direction with a clear sense of purpose. The cast overall is weak and the script muddled as it bogs down from a HK actioneer flick to one about police corruption and subsequently fla...( read more)tlines. Jacky Wu as the baddie shines above all when involved in hand-to-hand combat, but bores when on his soapbox babbling about loyalty and injustice. Nick Tse has done alot better and seems to be chillin in an underdeveloped role. For fight fans there is a whole lot better out there..try 'the protector' or 'legendary assassin'..or even 'chocolate'. This movie is all over the place and like a spinning top losing momentum the longer it spins, it wobbles to the end.

That Benny Chan, I like the cut of his jib. Great, over the top action and fighting scenes make this a top drawer offering, and add to that likable heroes and formidable villains and you got another great Hong Kong action pic. No complaints except that it's a little long, but I...( read more)'m sadly facing the fact that there are no more movies under 2 hours. Remember when it was an art to tell a solid, tightly paced story? I think filmmakers are under the impression that "longer" means "better", and God I hope that misconception disappears soon. I mean, I think it's a lot more of a commitment to just watch a friggin popcorn flick because director's egos make them want to make a bloody Transformers movie over 2 1/2 hours. What the hell!? Is there really that much story? Could it not be tightened? Was it perfectly paced at 2 1/2 hrs? I guess I'll have to book a day off of work and see myself one day, but GD, does anyone know how to make a movie under 2 hrs anymore? Geez.... what was I talking about again? Oh yeah, Invisible Target. Kick ass movie.

Sounds like another version of Training Day, only there's no Denzel or Ethan Hawke or Snoop Dogg. Bummer.

The story isn't so original, but this still is a badass film. It's action-packed and the character development is there.

it all started as a revenge of a cop for the death of his fiancee, a cop for his name, and the other cop for his brother's mistaken identity. I admire the story of friendship despite differences and how injustice the world is. I love the fight scenes as well as the dialogs and ho...( read more)w the characters, be it the leading or the villain, portrays the part of being their characters..

A fast paced action/martial arts extravaganza, this features Jacky Wu (or Wu Jing if you prefer) at his best, the guy is just amazing to watch, lightning fast and evil as hell as the mercenary in charge of a gang of thieves.

Well worth a look for action fans, and even though the...( read more) film suffers from a little too much melodrama (there's some fat to be trimmed from this one for sure), the movie is well worth a rental.

    Check it out.

saw today June 7 2009 DT Cinemas Chandigarh...awesome action as ever in Asian Movies (A renegade cop, a young officer, and a veteran detective just perfect) A gang of thieves led by Tien (Wu Jing) and Yeng-yee (Andy On) blows up an armored truck so they can steal the millions of ...( read more)dollars that are secured inside. The explosion is so huge and fiery that it wipes out nearby cars and stores, including a jewelry shop where fiancee of police detective Chan Chun (Nicholas Tse) was shopping for wedding rings and dies instantly due to explosion, six months later Chan Chun (Nicholas Tse) still grieving her loss and aching for a chance to avenge her death.
Having fled Hong Kong after the robbery, Tien's gang is forced to return in search of their share of the booty, which was not paid as promised by their "invisible" boss. On the streets of Hong Kong, we meet Wai King-Ho (Jaycee Chan) in a stiffly starched police officer's uniform, writing a traffic ticket despite the offender's protestation that he has influential friends in the police department. Wai is a righteous and honorable cop.
He has followed in the footsteps of his older brother, who also joined the police. His brother infiltrated Tien's gang, but reportedly turned to the criminal side and hasn't been seen or heard from in years. Wai aches for the change to redeem his brother's good name.

Everyone assumes that Wai knows where his brother is, and pressure is applied on him by both Chan and Fong, who have been working separately but soon join forces. They become a trio of sorts, with Wai as the youngest member, after an extended scene, played for laughs, in which every glass surface in a two-story restaurant is smashed to smithereens. The sequence highlights Wai's inexperience and tendency toward self-righteousness: the three men are all off-duty when an argument erupts upstairs and Wai needless involves himself as a police officer. He feels he must step in, while the other two are sufficiently experienced to stay out of it. But the scene also shows that Wai can't handle the escalating tempers of multiple combatants by himself; he needs help. Indeed, even after the two officers finally lend a hand, there are simply too many angry people for them to contain by themselves, and they wisely slip out and call for help....better watch movie...man first it looked ok but after the interval the movies got more interesting and the real motive of movie came out clear...that is 8 out of 10 deadliest criminals also have soft corner..and they need a chance to correct themselves, next being a cop doesn't mean you need to shoot and kill any criminal or be arrogant as shown by Wai King-Ho (Jaycee Chan).
    be a good human.
but one thing i will suggest you to go and watch this movie in original, since its print and dubbing in English is very very poor...but the movie is ALL TIME BEST...with comedy and dedicated policeman act from Jaycee Chan and emotional plus robust act of Chan Chun (Nicholas Tse)... I'LL GO AND WATCH IT AGAIN IN ORIGINAL MODE...COOL STUFF

What a slick action ride, loaded with the next generation of Hong Kong martial arts superstars. This is loud, fast, action-packed, adrenaline pumping and explosive.
I was suprised what I saw a young officer seemed very familiar to a famous Hong Kong superstar, then I found out ...( read more)what I believe he's Jackie Chan's son, Jaycee. He follows his father's footsteps as a supporting role in this Hong Kong film.
