I think the National Lampoon's movies are great. They are usually funny.... I dont know which ones I have seen and I havent seen. But, Ive seen this one... Maybe not all of it, but most. I usually watch them when they're on(like most movies i like....lol).
Try going on a road trip with this family to see their favorite guy on tv's Amusement/Theme Park. What happens along way is just insane. Clark W. Griswald and his family have fun adventures.
I love this movie. The only other movie in this series that I loved just as much was 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation'. The other ones didn't come close to being as funny as the first two.
These days, National Lampoon is not known for its comedies, but back in the early '80s, the world was introduced to 'Vacation' which began the start of a series of funny and well known comedies. 'Vacation' can not really get a simpler story. A family travel to a particular place with unprepared comedic occurrences. The are some nice cameos featured, such as Eugene Levy and John Candy, an the film is a mixture of both physical and verbal comedy, with it nicely separated amongst the well played characters, with one of the best and remembered characters being Aunt Edna. But, the one character who gets the best portion of the jokes is Chevy Chase. He delivers all the lines so perfectly that creates one of the best characters of the film, and a character who is still being referenced to this day.
You will enjoy this great summer time movie although it is nearly 20 years old, it still makes me laugh.Europe as experienced by an American family is very funny and even people who are offended by the so-called lack of respect towards the old continent, should agree that the typical characteristics of the English, French, Germans and Austrians are true to life, although admittedly slightly exaggerated. It's an unpretentious movie which aims at offering a better form of slapstick. Chevy Chase with his mixture of good intentions and bewilderment is always hilarious. One good piece of advice: NEVER go to Austria and watch the guys doing those typical male dances in their short leather pants. After having seen this movie, you will be subject to hysterical laughter
National Lampoon's Vacation is easily one of the funniest movies that I've ever seen in my life. It's one laugh after another and they're delivered constantly! But I must say that my favorite part was the ending.
What do you get when you mix Chevy Chase, Harold Ramis, John Hughes, Randy Quaid, Beverly D'Angelo, Anthony Michael Hall, Imogene Coca, Eugene Levy, John Candy, and many more? You get National Lampoon's Vacation, a comic treat from Ramis and Hughes. The jokes and humour in this film are so subtle and impressive that I find something new to laugh at each time I watch it. Chase plays bumbling father Clark Griswold, who works with food additives. He decides to take his family on a road trip from their home town of Chicago to Wally World amusement park in California. Clark's wife Ellen (D'Angelo) wants to fly out, and so do his kids, Rusty and Audrey (Hall and Dana Barron). I have been a big, big fan of Vacation for ages. Anthony Michael Hall and Dana Barron are quite possibly the best "kids" used in a "National Lampoon's"
Besides the boobies, and the preps eating the dog's puppy juice (LMAO)... And the guy shitting in the can (LOL), BESIDES That, I didn't lie it much. Guess those parts made a big impact on me, to rate this a 4 outta 5, lmao.
There are certain rules a family should follow when heading off on holiday. If you're not sure what they are then grab this flic and it will be clearly spelt out for you in the most disasterous fasion as only Nat.Lampoon can do.
The Start To The Griswold's If you Don't Know The Griswold's You Don't Know Vacations. Lol These Cracky Nuts Are The Funniest Family to spend a vacation with, This is the start and you laugh to the end.
This is one of those classics that fans of comedy really must see. It brings to mind every bad road trip or vacation that you've ever taken in a refreshingly funny way.
This is one of Chevy Chase's best movies, and so true to how taking a road trip/vacation can often be.....see this and Christmas Vactaion.....and you can pretty much skip the rest/.
A classic comedy from one of the original comedic masters of the 80's. This movie is a must see for all. This is comedy on a different level, something writers and audiences today are unaware of. There is a certain level of quality to the comedies of the 80's.
Taking a trip accross the country. Meeting family you haven't seen in years (who doesn't have and Eddy in their background). The whole thing is great and fun.
Very funny movie about all the things that can go wrong on a family vacation. Chevy Chase is great as the father who wants to make it an unforgettable vacation for his wife and kids. It's unforgettable alright but not the way he planned it... LOL. Love the scenes with Imogene Coca as the crochety grandmother.
MAJOR blast fom the past here lol it still holds up pretty well.....its actually very funny in spots, mainly down to chase, the classic 80's comedian from the SNL 80's platoon haha the look is historic now and the plot easy going..but the comedy is great and the soundtrack is pretty sweet too.best scenes include...the red ferarri girl, highjacking wallyworld, the dead aunt, randy quaid as eddie, arriving at wallyworld to find its closed and many various in car travel moments.the thing is..u can relate to it haha maybe not now..but back in the day,i had afew roadtrips on hols with the family haha
