Hallucinatory and very overrated film about a couple "similar" to Bonnie and Clyde.Stone is overtly...stoned: jumpy cuts, indifferent dialogue, still we get to have the likes of a b-movie and it's fun to see Downey Jr. in a pitch perfect performance.
One of the most visually challenging films ever made. Both brilliantly edited and directed. Wood Harrelson shows great talent, and Tommy. Lee. Jones. pulls off a hallerious performance...
creepy isnt it.i could not beleive they killed their camera man. it was a little over the edge, but as long as woody was in the movie he madfe it less dramatic with his charm. the film is alright.
An ultra-violent modern classic, it goes all out with the bloodshed, especially in telling the backstories of the two main characters who, despite being evil personified, we're made to feel sympathy for in the second half of the movie after spending the first half murdering everyone who gets in their way. When in prison for most of the second half of the movie, the TV media glorifying their brutal mudering spree are shown as the real villains of the story as they look for ratings, little knowing that the situation will turn against them when taking their endorsement of the killers one step further.
Woody Harrelson and Juliet Lewis head a cast of misfits in this dark comedy about two sociopathic killers in America. Not for the timid. Hard R rating. Not for kids.
Oliver Stone's amazingly violent love story. The characters in this film are not redeeming in any way, but you find yourself on their side. I wish the film had left out some of the 'trippy' effects. I found them to be a distraction.
An explosive and unforgettable film. An exhilerating adreniline-rush. A powerful, riveting, scary and shockingly brilliant. A great taste of pulp entertainment. Director, Oliver Stone's genre-bending masterpiece. A wickedly hilarious, terror-filled, action-packed anarchy picture of a world gone mad. It takes you deep in the minds of madness. Woodey Harrelson gives a pure powerhouse performance. Tommy Lee Jones is brilliant. Robert Downy. Jr
Jarring, Trippy, Funny and in your face. Natural Born Killers is a definitive 90's film if there ever was one. Oliver Stone directs with such a satirical style, its sometimes hard to take seriously. But maybe it was never meant to be taken seriously...Memorable performances by Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Sizemore. A strange, surreal ride worth taking.
is and has been one of my all time favourite movies since i saw it at the age of 15. fabulous script by QT, not quite as it should be adaptation by stone, but still a wicked film regardless. ive studied this for years in various film studies classes and now know it inside out, i dont even own it on dvd any more. i dont know when ill ever watch this again as i have it burned into my memory. it is the film that made me realise what film could do to people and what emotions it could unfurl. i totally fell in love with the idea of the anti-hero and freedom in life. if youre gonna do something wrong - do it right.
oliver stone, although maybe for the wrong reasons, was going down the right path with this movie, its hard to understand why he made world trade center now. AND with nick cage? what a fool.
this should be text book for all kids film studies classes. ask them if they get it. cuz they always will. beautiful, analytical, a good starting point for growth, understanding, an open mind and pure unadulterated romance.
Oliver Stone has never been a good director. I was distracted by how hard Stone was trying in making the film "weird". It really didn't work so well. Besides all that, Tarantino's original script would have made for a much better movie. Yet, despite it's many many flaws, the cast is solid and the characters believable. And, those that aren't interested in the phenominal social satire will be drawn to the levels of carnage it depicts.
Mixing colour, b/w, weird sequences, flashback, violence, snappy editing in a way which people will either like or hate. It is slow and boring at times but the good part hits in during the prison riot onwards. They are really good, so good that they got out of the prison.
Great movie.First saw this when i was about 8 and it had scared the shit out of me.But ive relized it is a great movie. My favorite part of it is the cinematography and Camera Views they can make you dizzy at times but make it one of Oliver Stones best films to date.
oliver stone directs a early tarentino script, great visual style throughout, using many diferent looks, styles and cameras.the story invoving 2 lovers on run and eventual capture is done in very over the top comic book way, taking a stab, at violent america in media especially, woody harelson sems born to play mickey and juliet lewis as malerie, and a great australian acented robert downey junior, add to greatness, the so called 3rd act in the prison, with a eventual atempted escape and riot, is a must see, superbly directed, superb soundtrack too
This movie is a steaming pile of dung, it's just another Oliver Stone mess. It's statement about violence and the media's over-glamorization is pretty vague. Oliver, just quit, man. It has some really good performances though, too bad they had to be wasted on such a poor excuse for a movie.
Pretty good movie. I think it would've been better if directed by Tarrantino. Don't get me wrong Oliver Stone is a terrific director. But I prefer him sticking to whacky conspiracy theory historical films.
This film might be the craziest and violent film ever but it is not only for the sake of entertainment, it is also making a major statement about the media and its obsession with violence. Director Oliver Stone is, as always, trying to make controversial points about the society or the politics and he does not fail in doing so.
The visual and camera movement might seem a little over the top, but it adds to the purpose of the film.
The cast is overwhelming! Everyone in this film is crazy out of their mind. Forget Bonnie and Clyde because Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis are the most dangerous couple on film. They are literally the natural born killers. Tom Sizemore and Robert Downey Jr. are always crazy and mind-blowing. But Tommy Lee Jones, one of the actors that i hate to watch , is giving one of his best performance. They are all bad guys, even the police officers. But we still have some sympathy for some of them which is quite weird considering their devilish personalities.
Finally I strongly recommend this film because it sends a very important message which echoes the representation of the media of today.
