Extremely entertaining spaghetti western nonsense from one of the masters, Sergio Corbucci. Ol' Burt is quite young here and is good, although he doesn't yet have the acting chops that we've all come to know and love. Nicoletta Machiavelli is sexy and tough in the lead female r...( read more)ole and the music is perfection (you'll recognize it from lifted tracks that QT used for Kill Bill, vol 2.) The film is a fast-paced, revenge-based western that is never slow but is never deep. It's all complete trash, of course, but good trash that is perfectly watchable and is, to be honest, a total blast. Now, will someone PLEASE release a nice, widescreen version on DVD in the US and save us all from the cheap, budget DVDs that the film has been released on...

Alright, so Sergio Corbucci was on too many drugs when he made this movie.. I'm perplexed at how Burt Reynolds could pass for a Native American. The voice-overs are terrible, but thats the way it goes in Corbucci films, even if it is in original language. Well, on top of all this...( read more), it looks to me ( even though I am no expert) that many horses were injured in the filming of this movie. I know this was not taken as seriously back in 1966 as it is today, but is still not pleasant to see. This is not why I am rating the film so low.. It was just a poor film.

You might not buy Reynolds as an Indian but this is a solid spaghetti western w/ steady action & a great score (sampled heavily in Kill Bill).

Burt Reynolds as an Indian eh?? It's actually better than you'd think, just way miscast.

influence from Kill Bill. Music scores composed by Ennio Morricone.

This is finally getting an official DVD release, and I couldn't be more excited.

    Yick! It's Burt Reynolds

Burt Reynolds is convincing as a deadly Indian with mysterious motivations. Sergio Corbucci's direction is more interesting than Sollima's, but not as iconic as Leone's. The plot is a standard revenge story with good production value. However, it didn't feel as personal as the...( read more) other western I saw that night, The Big Gundown.

Some great photography, an interesting plotline, good political elements, but seriously - Burt Reynolds as a Navajo? I'm sorry. :\ Bit drowsy-inducing too.
