A thoroughly engaging, well-constructed murder mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and offers a whole lot of pretty well-thought-out plot twists.
Fairly solid thriller and lots of great set-ups and pay-offs. Unfortunately, it can't avoid that easy trap most mystery movies fall into - getting overly convoluted. Still, worth the 2 hours.
Loved it! Quality French Mystery Thriller. So beautiful!! Gorgeous film. Great attention to detail. Wonderful sets and locations. Good soundtrack. Great direction. Fab cinematography. Excellent cast.
The first 20 minutes were fantastic!! The 2nd 20 minutes I thought were so intriguing and also fantastic. It just pulled me in. The next 20 minutes got my heart racing and my pulse stayed up for the next hour. This slow burner set me on fire from the first seconds to the very end.
As Lee From the apprentice would say 'Now thats what I'm talkin about!' A superb thriller that sucks you in completely and doesn't leave you dissappointed. Francois Cluzet is pitch perfect in his performance and brings realism into his role enough so that you care about him throughout the film, his devotion to his dead wife is evident and when fingers are being pointed at him 8 years later for his wifes murder you end up just as mistified as he is himself, there are twists & turns, some obvious and some not so much, there are good cops, bad cops, mysterious henchmen, honourable street criminals and a chase scene that even now rings fresh in my memory. It is a french film filled with passion where each and every actor makes a worthy contribution. If you, like Girls Aloud, are unable to speak french then it is worth your time reading the subtitles for 2 hours as you really must see this film.
Great film!! I think I preferred the chase to the actual resolution of the film but it was still a pretty good ending, and at least to me, not predictable...
