fuckin great martial arts movie. i loove it great fighting styles i like the lesbian scene at the beginnin of the movie that was hottt!!!!!! but bottom line this movie is like karate kid but better.
Not an extraordinary story line but damn it if it wasn't interesting excellent choreography, beautiful images... But ladies it's a guy flick so if u not into fight scenes and looking for a nice story line with romance and shit this is not the movie for you
Never Back Down is more or less this generation of The Karate Kid but meant for a bigger audience. The film centers on a teenager named Jake Tyler moving to Orlando Florida to start a new life after a vicious fight he had back where he lived.
Upon moving, his reputation grew and cought the attention of Ryan Mcdonald who is a popular fighter in his school. Being lured to a party, he gets beaten up and later vows for revenge.
The film was entertaining more or less. It had alot of good fight sequences and the acting was average at best. Djimon Hounsou did a okay job as Jake's fighting mentor but other then that this was just an okay film.
The mixed Martial Arts that the film centers on was well performed and made this film entertaining. The training sequences Jake went through was pretty interresting and just shows what fighters have to do to get fit. The script needed work and was also surprised to how of all locations, this film was set in Orlando florida which is close to where I live.
Other then that this was an okay film and would reccomend it to anyone seeking a decent fighting film.
Variment trop malade. L'histoire est bonne et les combats aussi :P Seul (ou presque) défaut : Le combat finale m'a déçu.... j'crois que j'm'attentais à trop....
A boy moves too Orlando Florida to get his life back on track and finds martial arts and underground fight clubs are popular there. He is set up and gets beat up by the area champion so trains to face him again in a showdown. Lots of good martial arts fight action and pretty good acting and characters.
It's basically a teenage version of Fight Club.. without the big Fight Club twist. It's good, hard to watch at parts, but good other than that. It also helps that they're both really hot. :)
With choppy editing and sappy characters, this movie left me laughing at some points and cringing at others... although I don't know if I was supposed to be experiencing those emotions at the given scenes. The characters, especially Cam Gigandet's, were sappy and over exaggerated and the editing was poor and slightly distracting. However, the sound and visuals were quite mastered. I was happy to see the "x-ray bone" shot done again and the music fade stay with the soundtrack. Overall, if you're looking to be entertained and literally nothing more, watch this film. If you're looking for substance, just watch a UFC match then watch "Fight Club." Actually, just go watch "Fight Club" anyways.
I really enjoyed this movie, heaps of mindless fighting violence, not much of a story line but interesting way to produce a movie... I went out n' bought this movie after watching it...
this is my life. i have to do everthing jake tyler in the movie has to do. and the stuff about being set up to get his ass kicked. all this stuff in the movie happened to me and still is
Oh La La. This movie was the bomb! I really... liked it. The fighting was so maddd. The crazy rich boy was outr of his mind having to invite someone to a party just to fight with him based on some rumour and for popularity. But whaty i liked at the end though was that there were no more rivalry b/w the two after that beatdown he learnt his lessson. Itwas a really cool movie:)
Totally predicable, its basically the OC meets karate kid (part never). Some of the fight sequences were ok but nothing to crazy. At least the man candy was good... oh and Djimon was great.
This was actually ok. Wasn't expecting much from it, but it was good. Main guys acting though was not so good. He could have done way better considering he's been in TV shows.
No matter what you do, it's still the same basic, boring and predictable story line.
The black guy was the only great part in the movie. Plus, the "villain" kid looked really creepy in a way that he wasn't attracitve but still just.....made me shiver with creepy-out-ness.
It really IS a rip-off of Fight Club and the OC. Let's throw in the Fast and the Furious too just because that movie sucked like this one.
