Hate to do this to Sturges & McQueen, but the pacing is horrible. Cut out 20 mins of love story, you got a decent flick.

They shouldn't have let Sinatra's pal in this film die. Anyway, I think the part when he complained about hospital food is really funny.

The only reason to watch this film is because of a performance from early on in Steve McQueen's acting career. Other than that there is no reason to watch this thickheaded war movie. Frank Sinatra is terrible as the lead, the plot is thin and the ending is anti-climactic.
