A modest and saccharine addition to the genre; wooden, slightly amusing at moments.

It was better than I expected it to be , actually. Sweet, funny and makes you feel good.
I wish I would see Renée Zellweger in more sophisticated roles, however, because she's talented enough to pull of a performance far greater than the sweet girl next door.
It was witty eno...( read more) -

This movie fell flat for me. Had some funny moments, but not enough to keep me interested the whole movie through.
Although I did enjoy the acting of Harry Connick Jr. and J.K. Simmons. I thought they were very funny. I don't care for Renee Zellweger. I haven't liked anything f...( read more) -

New in Town was a romantic comedy, more a chick flick movie, if you want to call it that way. Renee Zellweger played for Lucy, she really was adorable and likable. The plot was predictable, but enjoyable mainly due to the small town people. Lucy met Ted, they did not like each oth...( read more)

Very predictable. Character's were very dry. Not enough emotion in them and it tried to be funny romantic comedy, but it didn't work. But I watched it and somewhat enjoyed it with some amusing scenes.

Romantica y chistosa. Donde una mujer mira la vida diferente cuando la mandan a trabajar a un lugar bien diferente de que ella esta acostumbrado de vivir.

Critic Reviews
It follows a particularly abhorrent Hollywood formula: Ridicule the friendly, rural folks, show how stupid they are, then by the end, place their small-town values and inherent decency on a pedestal. full review
[A] drearily cheerful little picture that isn't nearly as funny or as heartwarming -- or even as topical, given the economic climate -- as it thinks it is. full review
The film squeezes every ounce of sweet-tempered comic potential from brutal windchill, Lutheran reticence and white-bread cuisine. full review
Broad accents, broader slapstick and a willful shrinking from anything remotely original. ... Also much condescension, toward both the characters and the audience. full review

The thudding sounds you hear at New In Town are jokes landing like lead balloons and conking the life out of the actors. full review
You've seen New in Town before, and you've seen it done better. full review
Am I giving too much away? This is the kind of movie that gives itself away. full review
