With this in mind, each student decides to apprentice for a unique organization aligned with their goals: Mumbai resident Suraj opts to work with Ecotact, a company that addresses the poverty of Kenyans by building pay toilets in slums; San Diegoan Heidi travels to India to work with D.light Design - a company that sells solar-powered LED lights to impoverished Indians; and Tuscaloosan Joel works for Micro Drip, a company that sells drip irrigation units to Pakistani farmers.
