    This is(or rather was) the first film that I watched in 2010 & I have to admit,the year started with a very strong film indeed!

    I mention strong because,yes the film deals with strong issues of religious prejudice in the U.S. after 9/11,more importantly the view towards Islami...( read more)c people who faced humiliating & haunting torture by the F.B.I.

    In many ways I thought it was anti-American.The way they portrayed the nation after the incident was a bit too shocking.But that's just my point of view.

    The acting was excellent,Neil Nitin mukesh,Irrfan khan(whom you last saw as the soft spoken police man in Slumdog),John Abraham all deliever good performances.Katrina kaif also is nicely cast in a not-so glamourised role(a role not quite familiar to her in bollywood).

    I now finally face-back towards Hindi cinema,yes If they stop making those silly romantic or stupid comedy films & start making more serious movies like New York,oh hell Yeah!

    Hopefully they'll provide some great movies like this in the coming days & then 2010 could be a great year for movies!

    it was a very good movie , one of the finest movie i have seen in recent times , it has GREAT cinematography , some of the parts in the movie are really scary , Katrina Kaif has done her best in this movie and it has a very tragic end , i cried , but this is the kind of movies th...( read more)at makes one think.

    After the controversial "Kabul Express", a film about post-Taliban Afghanistan Kabir Khan returns with an even more controversial film "New York". A film that centers around 3 friends and how the events of 9/11 changed their lives. But its more than that, it shows view points fro...( read more)m all sides. The best dialogue in the movie is spectacularly delivered by Irfaan Khan. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it. When I saw the trailer I was very intrigued. The film not only lives up to the expectations but surpasses it. Kabir Khan has crafted a movie which will satisfy not only the everyday Bollywood film lover but lovers of great cinema. After "Ghajini" and "Luck by Chance" this is the best Bollywood film I've seen this year. It might have taken John Abraham 20 films but he finally gives an excellent performance especially in the second half. Irfaan Khan is flawless as usual, the guy does not give a bad performance. Katrina Kaif is not just another supporting actress anymore, she shows range and is very believable in her role. New comer Neil Nitin Mukesh delivers and holds his own through out the film. I couldn't help but compare this film to "Slumdog Millionaire" in its narrative. The beginning starts of with interrogation and the film flashes back. Irfaan Khan is again the inspector...lol. Oh I'm sorry "the CIA". Also "Sam's theme" is very similar to "Latika's theme" from Slumdog". I don't know maybe its just me. I not only recommend this but is a must watch for everyone. A very satisfying film on all levels.
