It's been a little while since I've seen this movie, but I remember that I liked it quite a bit. I think I first started liking Christan Bale when I saw this movie. I watched it because I was always interested in the era it was based in. It's a pretty good movie. It's not like The Dark Knight or anything. But, it's still cool.

A long, cheesy, Disney musical. Not at all what I anticipated. idk, I guess I was expecting something like "Swing Kids" and was reluctantly watching boys tap-dance in unison to a hunky-dory plot. Christian Bale's good, though. Fans of his can make it through the end.

I thought this was pretty lame. All the songs sounded pretty much the same and Christian Bale creeps me out.

Believe it or not, I'm actually a fan of modern movie musicals. But I had never seen this one, and only finally caved out of sheer curiosity to see Christian Bale sing and dance. Boy am I glad I did.

Watching Bale was every bit as hilarious as I expected it to be. No wonder he's a bit embarrassed by this (in his defense, he signed on before it was changed to a musical, and was none too happy about it). Though he doesn't need to be. Even in something this silly, his acting talent really showed. The movie itself? Wasn't horrible, but probably isn't anything I'll ever watch again either. (and hey, I recognized at least 3 kids that went on to be on Hull High!)

A disney musical about the 1899 newsboy strike in New York City. Christian Bale leads a group of runaways and orphans , called Newsies , who sell the papers of Pulitzer, Hearst and other publishers.

Jack Kelly, a runaway without any family , is searching for a better life and in the process finds something to fight for. I generally hate musicals but this one was upbeat and entertaining . Bale , Pullman , and Duvall were the standouts cast wise.

I always thought Christian Bale was cool. Back then, my head would have exploded if I had known that he was Welsh.

Full of cliche (ah...the good ole underdog story!) but does what all Disney movies are meant to do: charm the audience. And anyone who reads my reviews knows how highly I respect Christian Bale...

An amazing musical about the 1899 news boys strike in NYC, Newsies was known as the flop of the 90's. Little does the media know that lurking in the shadows and far-reaches of the internet are websites known as cults to honour this outstanding movie...

This movie is a classic in my family. I grew up watching it with my older brothers, and it's just one of those things that bring us all together.

Oh, sure, there are ultimately better films out there, but this one is just endearing. The music, the dancing, the absolute earnestness of the young actors and the story.

July, 1899: When Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise the distribution price one-tenth of a cent per paper, ten cents per hundred, the newsboys, poor enough already, are outraged. Inspired by the strike put on by the trolley workers, Jack "Cowboy" Kelly (Christian Bale) organizes a newsboys' strike. With David Jacobs (David Moscow) as the brains of the new union, and Jack as the voice, the weak and oppressed found the strength to band together and challenge the powerful.

I was surprised at how much I liked this. If you give it a chance and stay with it, it ends up a really good story. Christian Bale gives an excellent performance as usual-wow, the guy can sing and dance too!

Christian Bale is not only amazing in this, but he's so cute. The storyline is awesome. The way the "Newsies" stood up for their little wages was commendable. They knew they were going up against the most powerful man in New York and they succeeded. The music is phenomenal also. I love this movie

I really enjoyed it. While it might've not done so good when it came out i think people would like it more now. It is actually a very good live action disney film. And in Christians words..."You say something bad about Newsies and you have an awful lot of people to answer to."

I remember seeing this movie because I wanted to see Dougie Howser's friend on the big screen. Christian Bale used to be so cute. And David Moscow! He played the young Tom Hanks in "Big." Since I like musicals, I thought this was a fun show. Good times.

My cousin and I started a petition that suggests that a Disney Star should remix a Newsies song for the Disney Mania soundtrack. No one has done that yet, and I would like to see that hapen. personally, i'd like to here the Jonas Brothers do that. please sign here: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/DCNewsiesDM/
