"We're Americans! We don't plan... we do!"
The first 'Museum' movie was a huge hit and in my opinion a very decent family film. Of course, it was inevitable that a sequel would happen, so here we are. 'Night at the museum 2' is bigger, louder and.. sucks ass.

Night at the Museum 2 is a fistful of family fun... brimming with amusing lines, great effects and a series of smart cameo performances.

Why can't more movies be like this? Entertaining and fun, strong performances from all quarters, huge ensemble cast. I give this one an A!

A pleasant way to pass a couple of hours on a flight, but it's really just a bunch of cliche fun for kids...

Decent comedy and slightly better than the prequel in my opinion. But missing more of Robin Williams.

Another good film but slightly prefer the first movie as that is more funny and shows some of the favourite characters more, also the Pharaoh was not very believable while being played by Hank Azaria and his silly accent. Disappointed that Nick, Larry's son was hardly in the mov...( read more)

Battle of the Smithsonian is far from art, but there's plenty of art in it, and for parents seeking a reasonable afternoon's entertainment for the kids, that's recommendation enough. full review
Adults who see this movie unaccompanied by a child should sign up pronto for therapy with Gabriel Byrne on In Treatment. full review
Pleasant, innocuous and intermittently thrilling family entertainment. full review
The sequel to the big family hit Night at the Museum struggles with a big creative challenge. The sense of wonderment you feel in seeing museum displays magically come to life is not as strong the sec... full review
The film offers enough ingenious touches and playful humor that the less-inspired elements hit with a screech. full review
It falls flat trying to muster up any mirth or suspense as it barrels from one set piece to the next. full review
Whatever its flaws may be, it at least refuses to be a stiff, lifeless relic. full review
It's bigger, noisier, shinier, and dumber, and it has no earthly reason to exist. full review

March 16, 2009It's a new "Night" and "Museum" for Ben Stiller, who is joined by several other stars from the original film, as well as new characters from history. The centerpiece of the film will be bringing to life the Smithsonian Institution, which houses the world’s largest museum complex with more than 136 million items in its collections, ranging from the plane Amelia Earhart flew on her nonstop solo flight across the Atlantic and Al Capone’s rap sheet and mug shot to Dorothy’s ruby red slippers and Archie Bunker’s lounge chair. No major film has ever shot inside the Smithsonian in Washington…until "Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian".
