Night at the Museum 2: Battle ...

Alain Chabat, Amy Adams, Ben Stiller, Bill Hader, Christopher Guest

It's a new "Night" and "Museum" for Larry Daley, who is joined by several other stars from the original film! The centerpiece of the film will be bringing to life the Smithsonian Institution, which ho...( read more  read more... )uses the world's largest museum complex with more than 136 million items in its collections, ranging from the plane Amelia Earhart flew on her nonstop solo flight across the Atlantic and Al Capone's rap sheet and mug shot to Dorothy's ruby red slippers and Archie Bunker's lounge chair. No major film has ever shot inside the Smithsonian in Washington."

"We're Americans! We don't plan... we do!"

The first 'Museum' movie was a huge hit and in my opinion a very decent family film. Of course, it was inevitable that a sequel would happen, so here we are. 'Night at the museum 2' is bigger, louder and.. sucks ass.

Ben Stiller's char...( read more)acter has now ended his career as a night guard and made a small fortune by inventing crap. The Museum of National History, where the first movie was placed in, is under renovation and all of his beloved friends from the past are being shipped to DC. Of course some evil shit has to happen. Without that happening, we wouldn't have been blessed with this fine piece of movie magic...

There's, simply put, one genuinely funny scene and it comes around at 10-15 min. Jonah Hill ('Superbad', 'Knocked Up'), who's performance was in fact uncredited, steals the film with his performance. Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan as the miniature cowboy and Roman general are just as funny as in the first movie. But if you're looking for some laughter, you can end the movie after Hill's scene and give another movie a shot...

The CGI is decent but the "simplicity" of the first one is gone and there's just a lot of noise and unimaginative shit pushed in the movie. I liked the first one so much more in every way.

This sequel is just another big budget mess. Annoying characters like Hank Azaria's villain of the movie, the Napoleon guy etc, ruin the movie. Even Ben Stiller, whom I usually like, is annoying as hell. I wouldn't recommend this sequel to anyone. Stick to the original and skip this one.

Why can't more movies be like this? Entertaining and fun, strong performances from all quarters, huge ensemble cast. I give this one an A!

A pleasant way to pass a couple of hours on a flight, but it's really just a bunch of cliche fun for kids...

Lots of excitement to be had in the sequel to Night at the Museum. It's filled with lots of chases as Larry rushes around trying to save his friends from being permantly still as they are moved to Smithsonian's storage without the magic block that has kept them alive nights. Some...( read more) characters are left at the museum and wait for Larry to make things alright again.
