ah, i love these kind of movies, the classic anime not yet tainted by today's 'oo goody, let's be friends and live out our terribly written lives while our animators slowly crap out on the detail of our shows/movies'. Ninja Scroll has a story that fits perfectly with the animation, unlike some animes today with a dark serious story and stupid goo-goo eye animation. The characters are deep and the developement of their story is decent. The story itself isn't all that original, but it's still fun, especially with unwilling and unmotivated Jubei as the 'hero'. loved it.
I wish I had time to watch every movie out there but since I don't I have to be picky about what I choose to watch. This one didn't make the cut because I don't think I'll like it or don't know enough about it to think I might like it.
The plot of this movie is easy for me to get into. I love anime. I had to buy this one. Animation is great, although it's a little old. The protagonist is hard-ass as well as the antagonists, so it stays interesting.
There is nothing bad for me to say about this movie except it's too short. Action set in feudal Japan is fast and furious. The main character, Jubei, is poisoned and forced to fight the seven hells of Jumon. How he gets out of his trouble is something you shouldn't miss. This is a must see movie. This is anime done right.
I first watched "Ninja Scroll" with a tongue-in-cheek attitude and ultimately felt impressed at its potential. An average story but the adventurous conflicts make it all the better. Seriously.
I've seen it many times before and it's one of the best Anime movies i've seen. I saw it when I was like 15 or something. And it's a Ninja flick so of course I loved it. Great story, scenes, fight sequences, cinematography and dialogue.
One of the best Animes ever. Still. Although in the Pirate V.s. Ninja debate, i'm siding with Ninja, so.. i already have a preferencef or this kinda stuff.
Not sure how to review this. I was a little taken back by the sex parts. Not expecting that. The animation was good, and it was an interesting story. worth watching if your an anime junkie
Not quite what i had first expected, but still an enjoyable anime. Once you're able to get past the nudity and hentai-like sex scenes, and OTT bloodshed, it's an enjoyable movie.
This is one of my fav's. It's very graphic so not for the viewing of children. Lots of violence and sexual content. Love the characters and has a cool storyline that's easy to follow. A must see for anime lovers.
Great action sequences with moderate storytelling. All around good anime, except for some gratuitous sexual scenes that don't serve to much of a purpose.
i love this movie and I have this on umd video the best jaapanese anime i saw this movie in the 90's when i first saw this movie it really blew mind away it's about an evil ninja caln leader who wants revegne for this one guy name jubei also a ninja great anime film glad i have this movie and watch it again.
Blood and guts...and thats in the first 30 minutes. The rest of the time there this story about a ninja but then people start dying again!!! Its a great anime movie....Probably the best ever.
one of the bloodiest, most voilent anime out there and also one of the coolest. theres some amazing artwork and great fight scenes. a must watch for all fans of manga/anime
I just watched this one and am wondering what took me so long! This classic anime is involving and has the trademark strong female character caught in a tragic dilemma. Great action scenes and very creative storyline!
