Probably the best movie ever. It was incredibly suspenseful, had actual depth to it, and was horrifying in a good way.

Javier Bardem played his character very well, really enjoyed Josh Brolin's chracter as well, but really a big let down...while the suspense was few and far between the ending really sucked.

Well I don't know how much sense things make in the book, but in the movie some things just didn't. To me this is just an average thriller.

Jeebus Christ on a crutch. This movie was fantastic. The pace was superb, Javier Bardem was chilling and dead on, Brolin was awesome and very realistic, Tommy Lee Jones was terrific but lacked a really strong point in the picture. Just his prescene was enough to put this flick at 5 stars. Jones was very witty and true grit. The Cohen Bros always amaze and they definetly deserved their OSCAR here. Some of the most flamboyant and gut churning chase scenes I have ever had the privelege to swaet through. Bardem's weapon off choice is eccentric but very intimidating. Do not pass up a chance to watch this beautifully shot, amazingly edited, superbly casted masterpiece.

I absolutely adored this film. This is without a doubt one of the best films of 2007. Before watching this film I was surprised that this film beat Atonement to Best Picture but after I watched it, I am not surprised that it won. It totally deserved it. The acting in this film is absolutely fantastic from the entire cast. Tommy Lee Jones was brilliant in the leading role as cop as Sheriff Ed Tom Bell. He should have had an Oscar nomination for Best Actor instead of his Oscar nomination in In The Valley Of Elah. Javier Bardem was absolutely sensational in his Oscar winning performance as serial killer Anton Chigurh. He was the best out of the whole cast because he is a very fearful character and one of the most terrifying characters in film history. Josh Brolin was very good as Llewelyn Moss and so was Kelly MacDonald as Carla Jean Moss. The setting and cinematography of this film is absolutely fantastic. I love the art direction around the hotel and in the West. It looks like a western film but it isnt one at all. Fantastic film by the great directors Joel And Ethan Coen. My 5th favourite film of 2007.

No Country for Old Men scare the sh*t out of me! Hollywood got another talented actor, Javier Bardem. Javier succeeds in bringing the cold-blooded psycho murderer Anton Chiguir! The strength of this film lies in him. Seeing him walking (with his gas) and even talking (Coin Toss scene) creeps me out! All along this movie, i always prepare myself of what this Anton Chiguir will do next. I couldn't help closing my ears watching this piece of art for i am scared to see what's next in each scene. This simple, low-budget movie worth the oscar as for many talented-hands working behind the scenes of No Country for Old Men. They pull up together and produce such a work of art! Coen Brother managed to deliver the creepiness without much music (the one you won't find in cheap horror movies which MUSIC scare you out, not the film itself).

A great but very complex film. It's easy to be disappointed at the end but that part is the real essence of it. Really hard to understand completely, which can make it less perfect depending on how much you like thinking.

This is my favourite movie!Javier Bardem is a great actor!he deserves to get award for his acting. He make me scared in this movie.Anton Chigurh(Javier Bardem) is unpredictable.Sometimes i wonder of what he will do,especially in "The Coin-Toss" scene.wow..he make it so good. The story is simple, about a cold-blooded murder, but The Coen Brothers make it special.actually, no music at all in this movie, unlike the other cheap horror(especially SUMPAH POCONG,if u watched it)Maybe that's what make this movie so thrilling, because we don't know what will happen!

WTF??? Bad guy gets away in the end??? Good guy (or as close as this movie gets to a good guy) DIES??? I'm a big fan of TLJ but this movie makes me rethink it once again. TLJ has got some weird f***in movies out there. Not much else to say about this movie - TLJ pretty much played an aging cop waiting for retirement . Josh Brolin played his part to perfection. That is the only good thing I have to say about this movie ~

What an over-rated movie, the only performance thats worthwhile is Javier Bardems but that still leaves a mediocore movie, its too slow and for my taste.

I recently finished reading the book, and even though the beginning was kinda slow, I enjoyed it quite a lot. Can't wait to see the movie version.

I didn't like this movie, i thought it was so stupid. I don't understand what all the fuss was about. A sicko with a bad hairdo going around killing people because of some money. I thought Josh Brolin did a great job though

    Gas Station Proprietor: Sixty-nine cent.

Gas Station Proprietor: I seen you was from Dallas.

Gas Station Proprietor: Well sir I apologize. If you don't wanna accept that I don't know what else to do for you. Will there be something else?
Anton Chigurh: I don't know. Will there?
Gas Station Proprietor: Is somethin' wrong?
    Anton Chigurh: With what?
    Gas Station Proprietor: With anything?
Anton Chigurh: Is that what you're asking me? Is there something wrong with anything?
Gas Station Proprietor: Will there be anything else?
Anton Chigurh: You already asked me that.
Gas Station Proprietor: Well... I need to see about closin'.
    Anton Chigurh: See about closing.
    Gas Station Proprietor: Yessir.
Anton Chigurh: What time do you close?
Gas Station Proprietor: Now. We close now.
Anton Chigurh: Now is not a time. What time do you close?

No Country for Old Men is a brilliant film that gripped me from the beginning. The Coen Brothers manage to tell a story of violence and crime in a beautifully artistic way. The very first scene with the deputy and Anton sets the theme, style and pace of the film. This film refuses to be classified in one particular genre. It has everything.

The characters had depth and a quirky sense of humor that you find in all of the Coen Brother films. Javier Bardem was cold, brutal and methodical as Anton Chigurh and I understand why he won the Oscar for his role. The hunter/prey chase of the film had me rooting for Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones to survive this sadistic tale.

A rather strange movie. I quite enjoyed the action scenes, they were very tense and pretty well done.
However many other scenes were just either boring or very weird, and the ending was stupid in my opinion. Tommy Lee Jones' character hardly played any role in this.
Was quite impressed with the acting overall though, especially by Javier Bardem. He portrayed a cold-blooded killer extremelly well.

Another great example of a film where the plot isn't the main attraction. This is a director's and actor's film. The Cohen brothers do a superb job, with impeccable direction in this crime thriller, where beauty can be seen everywhere, no matter what the scene is "telling" us; the direction and cinematography are simply perfect. And this is by far Javier Bardem's film; it's the kind of role every actor wishes to have at least once in their lives. His performance is brilliant; beautiful; a result of the greatness of a real actor.

It seems to me this strange exercise in filmmaking is an attempt to force the audience to watch a story rather than to think about it; to watch characters rather than performances, action rather than a script, places rather than cinematography. The Coens have intentionally left themselves no technical grounds for praise, other than Bardem's performance and a quick and beautiful montage of landscapes to start the film off (just to give Roger Deakins something to do, I guess). If you are not riveted by the story then you have nothing to do with yourself while watching it, no "critical" aspects to chew on. Strange, then, that they set themselves the extra challenge of trying to rivet us not only with suspense and action (Bardem, Brolin) but with character study (Jones) so ponderous as to be initially off-putting to many a first viewer, especially as it comes where the climax of the action ought to be. Stranger still, then, that so many critics and lay-audiences alike adored this risky but rather boring film.

A strange Coen's movie, as it doesn't have all their little idiosyncrasies, but it holds enough to probably be the best film of the year.
