One of the greatest comedy movies of all time, Its a play within a movie! Brilliant comedic timing. The whole cast is fantastic. Very smart humor and explicit delivery. A must see film!
I laughed so hard in the theater that I literally had to stand up in the aisle because my side hurt so bad.
Drama club people like this type of stuff. Those darn drama club people. The real play was good, but did I really need to see a movie of a play of a play?
I acted in this play as Mark Linn-Bakers role as the Stage Manager and it was a great play to be in. The movie was a pretty good adaptation of that play.
a must-see for people involved in play-making. this film made me understand the dynamics of a production and helped me make my own play a success.
Great representation of the play. Hysterical. Marilu Henner is my favorite in the movie as Belinda. Nicolette Sheridan is also hysterical as Brooke. Slapstick, madcap, very very funny. No movies are made like this in the recent past. Carol Burnett and John Ritter are also hysterical dueling backstage and onstage. The whole cast is great. One of my favorites.
Hilarious!! I absolutely recommend this film. John Ritter is amazing. And it's nice to see Christopher Reeve's comedic side. And of course it's great to see actors like Carol Burnett & Michael Caine in this film also!
It was cute. It wasn't as horrible as I had heard it was. I do agree that it doesn't translate as well on screen. Go see the live version it is absolutely hilarious.
This is a movie based on a stage play. It is a great comedy! Great actors! If your local civic play house does this production-IT IS A MUST SEE!
I played Dallas in the stage version in high school. It's a great play, because of the farce aspects - characters coming in and out, just missing each other - it's all about timing. This gets lost on screen. It doesn't work nearly as well.
A friend recommended this movie, and so I decided to check it out. For the first forty minutes, I found myself thinking, "This is fairly entertaining, but not fantastic." By the end of the movie, however, I had changed my mind. This is one of the funniest things I've seen in awhile. The first half of the movie is mostly setup and some mild chuckles, while the last half is hilariously zany and had me laughing out loud several times. Definitely recommended!
This is one of the funnies movies ever made based off of a play. Great performances and just silly nonsense will leave you busting a gut.
Hysterical look at a theater company! Great performances by Michael Caine, John Ritter, Christopher Reeve and more.
Now this was truely a funny movie from beginning to end. The one section where everything is acted out with out anyone saying a word, is truely actting.
Some of the best fast-paced dialogue in a movie. Christopher Reeve gives a brilliant comedic performance.
For some reason moved to an American setting, which doesn't add anything, but equally, they don't mess with the original script a great deal. A good representation of the stage production, which is outstanding.
if you are in the theater industry, you should watch this..the story concept is possible in the life of theater production
I've never seen the movie but my high school did a production of it and I thought it was pretty funny.
you must see this movie....& if you're a little inebriated, even better. really fun--theatre buffs will totally appreciate it.
Not normally a fan of slapstick, but there's something about watching the iterations of the play as it disintegrates that fascinates me.
I can't imagine how this play is accomplished on live stage (and it is). The ensemble cast is outstanding. And I can't praise the TIMING of the action and dialog enough!
Nobody knows about this movie but it's hilarious as this Broadway-bound show just keeps getting worse and worse and worse....
The charm of Noises Off was seeing the same act of a silly farce first at dress rehearsal, then from backstage as the actors interacted, and finally at a disastrous performance later in the run. There was no way to capture that magic on film in spite of a stellar cast.
