I love the comedic actors in this movie, too bad it's an absolute pile of dog shit. I even disliked this movie when i rented it at age 12, and I'm pretty sure I liked a lot of dog shit movies back then. Like Godzilla (1998).
The judge was really grotesque looking. Penis nose was gross too. The movie had a great cast. Funny in a cheesy way. I was surprised to find Tupac in the movie. I didn't recognize him but hubby did.
Dan Ackroyd directs one of the single most disappointing original SNL players movies ever made, and some might argue, the worst acutally. The aging cast, in 1991, play gross out versions of themselves going to a town of nastypeople, Valkenvalia, where innsane monsters run rampant, and they have a funhouse that grinds people down to their bones. Lovely. Trying for straight up in your face 90s humor, they all fall flat, and do terrible performances, especially Chevy Chase and Ackroyd. John Candy is just sad. This is a terrible movie, but at the time, it was hyped in ever major magazine as being a scifi comedy horror thriller. Yeah right. If only they got Mel Brooks to come in and rewrite the script, and direct it. Then it would have worked. But NO. It seems full of itself too much for that.
An all star cast gives this horror/comedy some funny lines and moments, but for the most part it was pretty bad. Although original, it's actually kind of boring.
dan aykroyd directed this what some people consider to be a hidden gem or atleast an overlooked gem.. purely enjoyable for the camp value which this flick has
I remember when this movie first came out everyone was upset because Dan Aykroyd's nose looked like a penis. Ew! Anyway, I remember bering very disappointed by this movie and confused by Demi Moore's strange, white outfit. Overall, there is so much wasted talent. The best part: Digital Underground's "Same Song."
oh gosh! i have been trying to find the title of this movie for the longest of time! one of the movies i watched when i was little and got so frightened by the giant babies and the judge who removes his nose! and the chute full of skulls! creepy!
This movie is nuts. Dan Akroid has a penis nose, there's two fat pigs that love cereal and john candy plays a mute woman who tries to marry chevy chase. Pretty fun. Pretty screwed up.
The movie is insane- and the cast is just perfect! Chevy and Demi Moore are a hoot together. But it all goes to Dan Aykroyd and John Candy for making this movie to be one of the funniest films ever.
Such a weird, fantasitc film! Dan Akroyd is great. It's so "out there" you sit watching with your jaw open in amazement the first time. Try it! You'll like it! You'll love it!
My god I love this movie! It didn't really make any since... but come on with John Candy, Dan Aykroyd, and Chevy Chase (when he was still kind of funny) the movie really didn't have to make much since. God bless the man who decided that The Digital Underground needed to make a raping cameo right smack in the middle of this film. I don't even LIKE rap music... but come on Humpty Hump is just plain old funny. And I don't even know if thats what he's trying for!
There is just something horrific about having Chevy Chase being hit on but John Candy in a dress. Devilish and genius at the same time. particular Kudos go to Dan Aykroyd. As both an acting presence in the film and as the director, its amazing at how much he gets away with whilst always remaining in character and playing such an uncharacteristically insanely tyranical character. Not a must see by any stretch of the imagination, but good if you like your comedy black and your innuendo blacker.
My gawsh!!! What a cow pie this was! A friend/co-worker recommended that I see this and I believe that I was the butt of a demented joke. Was nominated for 5 Razzies and walked away with only 1 win. There must have been some real stinkers in 1991 for this dog not to have swept the awards. My rating: 0 of 5 stars...
Oh my dear GOD... I defy you to find a major film so massively, spectacularly, embarrassingly bad. The single most persuasive reason why Dan Aykroyd's never directed since.
