They got back to what we enjoy most... Getting even with Vegas which is what I love about O's 11, and what lacked about O's 12. Everyone's performances were great and Pacino fit in as the villain. This is what a popcorn summer is suppose to be, quick paced, light hearted, and WITH A SATISFYING ending.
A ruthless hotel owner cheats Reuben out of his share of the property and so the gang decide to extract retribution by ruining him and taking everything he's got. The Ocean's franchise, although better than the horribly self-indulgent original rat pack film, has never quite lived up to its potential. The first film started great but got rather mechanical and joyless for the second half. The second film started well but the second half was, well, garbage. Third time's the charm however, as the latest chapter is a big improvement over them both. The balance of comedy and action is maintained throughout the film at last, there's no Julia Roberts to be seen (yes!) and Pacino makes a much more charismatic villain than the inanimate Andy Garcia character. There's also plenty of comic asides from the Clooney/Pitt double act and Don Cheadle has finally tamed his still silly, but now bearable mockney accent. The plot twist is a little obvious, and a couple of the characters barely get a look in, but that's better than it being bloated and overlong. A stylish and sassy heist thriller, and the best of the series.
major let down. the idea was done once, ocean's 11, perfect, ocean's 12....ok, ocean's 13?!?!?!?! well, people wondered why Mr. Bernie Mac died..................
ok, I LOVED this movie. I loved the 1st Oceans 11, hated Oceans 12, and then this one seemed like it went back to original formula of the story. It also was cute that they all went in on it for Reuben. The story was better this time around!
I think this movie is great.
of course we all know that Ocean and his crew would sucsesfully rob the casino, but watching how he did was fun. I loved Matt Damon and his rubber nose. And maybe Brad Pitt should settle down and have some kids.lol..........You think this is funny Ocean?? Well, Terry it sure as shit ain't sad.
this was a good effort but i must say that it confused me a little. this is the kind of movie you have to watch all of it withouth interuptions to understand it
what can i say for a prequel this movie is pretty darn good , i wont say it is better than oceans eleven because its not but its a decnt movie its definatly worth a watch
Some trilogies just aren't meant to be. This is one of them. Don't watch it. The plot is convoluted and uniteresting. Just rewatch Ocean's 11 3 times instead.
Patches the big hole in our hearts caused by the extremely-disappointing Ocean's Twelve. Steven Soderbergh's wit in film making makes itself evident once again, and the characters made sense once more.
Interesting tricks and not the best of the series but fun enough to watch. The only movie I can think of that I wasn't enthusiastic about Mr Pachino being in.
Al Pacino, George Clooney and Brad Pitt were brilliant, as always. Not saying the others were bad. But they certainly stood out for me. I'm not so sure about using that tunneling thing though. It seemed a bit way over the top. But other than that, it was brilliant. As good as the first one. I want more.
the first one was the best..it's entertaining enough..but i might say the story was not really that good.. it's stll smart and twisted..but im saying they could have found a greater story than this
By placing the film back in Vegas, Ocean's 13 brings back the sense of fun and cool that made the first flick so enjoyable. The wry chemistry between its stars and the awesomely clever heist at the heart of the flick also lets the film keep pace with the original.
