Two brothers have fallen in love with the same woman, Laura (María Rosa Gallo) but there is a catch. She is the fiancée of one brother already, an artist who suffers from ill health. The artist has always been his mother's favorite child and so when Laura and the other brother who is quite strong and normal end up falling in love, they are kept apart. The sickly brother and the mother, as well as Laura's own weakness all conspire to keep the original engagement intact. But after the artist's illness becomes fatal, Laura eventually marries the remaining brother -- and the two of them encounter unexpected problems stemming from their past. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
