Such a sweet story about friendship. Very sad ending though! Malkovich was amazing, as usual.

An interesting adaptation of John Steinbeck's classic novel, highlighted by strong performances from Gary Sinise and John Malkovich.

Great performances with John Malcovich as great as he always is, being the key character of the movie and keeping the thrill going. Gary Sinise does a higher-than-average job both in the acting and the directing department.

One of the novel-to-movie adaptations that remain true ...( read more)to the book to an extreme degree. Doing thus, however, it misses the elements that would belong better in the book while could have been altered in the movie for the sake of saving it.

Human, emotional, an exciting journey of life, of a beautiful friendship and of tragic death. A great movie, but just as it usually (always?) goes, not better than the John Steinbeck masterpiece.

a well done effort here, if only because the producers reached so high in attempting steinbeck's classic consideration of what could be most important after we take care of the basics, like survival...how we care for each other? sinise is better than i first thought he could be,...( read more) and walston is always a fine addition to any work he is in, but this is malkovich's show as he literally shines as the simple lenny...

I did not expect the ending. Under the circumstances, it was probably the most merciful thing his friend could do but how sad!

When I started to see the movies, and saw the actors...I thought that I would not like it, as I do not fancy that much John Malkovich, but at the end of the day, he played really really good his role. And the scenes with the puppy are absolutely powerful.

    Nice! :)

it was kind of cool yet boring

This is a pretty good movie, mostly due to the fact that John Malkovich and Gary Sinise are such good actors. However, it did not even remotely compare to the greatness of Steinbeck's novel.
