Turned out to be a good movie.

Really strong performances by all involved, especially Nick Nolte and Trevor Morgan. But it is James Ponsoldt's meaty script that is really thrilling. The depth of feeling he gets from his actors is good too. I wish he had more than 23 days to shoot, since some of the photography...( read more) is marginal, but some shots are just beautiful, especially the close-ups of the actors' faces.

Solid story, compelling presentation. However the acting was just dull, I thought Nolte would make a considerable difference, but he didn't add much.

Which makes it all the more gratifying to watch Nolte pulverize the dramatic banality around him.

coming of age drama as a kid whos not sure what he wants in life befriends a basebal coach, in his league, hes down and out, and a piss head, so the 2 bond, oviously not a original film at all, seen many times before, but good performances especially nolte, as his grizzly old man...( read more) routine, some good acting all round, a sunday afternoon tv movie at best, but thats not a bad thing

The more independent movies I watch, the more I want to see. Nothing spectacular here, just a good story. Very likable characters. I just wish Rosemarie could have had more screen time.

Not very good. I just could not wrap myself around any of the characters in this movie. Was a little ...strange (where it wasn't supposed to be) ..or sumpin. Not Nolte's best (at all) Not Timothy Hutton's best either (at all). It's a shame because young Trevor Morgan did a gre...( read more)at job considering the weak script. I'll look for more from Morgan, as he did impress me. Overall however? Pass on this one.
(thinks Hutton and Nolte were partying between scenes)
