This is probably one of the Bollywood movies you have to watch before you die! It has everything - gapness, romance, horror... alright there's no sex scene but Deepika Padukone is definitely hot enough!! ;) Great dance and songs!!

MCT:September 1, 2008I didn't see what is so GREAT about the movie. It's a good movie with a unique concept, but still not absolutely awesome. I don't think it deserves all this praise.
And I don't really understand why Deepika is being considered a good actress for her FIRST movie. She has worked in movies in other languages. So, really, she's not NEW.
Anyways, the soundtrack was alright, not so fond of some of the songs.
And I also think that they should have explained in some part of the movie about how Om had gotten "reborn".
Other than all that, it was okay. -
MCT:August 17, 2008A beautiful film with a great deal of wonderful music. Many of these songs just won't stop running through my mind. Does a good sendup of Bollywood and still has a great plot.

A suprising movie for me. Since 2005, I don't really like Shahrukh Khan and his performance in this movie is very ok. Arjun Rampal was very very good, that suprised me and Kirron Kher as always very sweet. Deepika Padukone is a very talented actress. The music is very good.

OMFG WHERE DO I BEGIN??? THIS MOVIE WAS SO AMAZING BEGINNING WITH THE HILARIOUS FIRST SONG TO THE EVIL YET SEXY ACTING OF ARJUN. SHARUKHS ABS ARE MIND BLOWING AND THE COSTUMES WERE SUPERB. THE STORY LINE WAS INCISING AND SWEET AND THE MUSIC WAS BACK TO BACK PHENOMINAL! I LOVE THIS MOVIE SOOO MUCH!

this is good! this is really really good. the post production must have had a hell lot of things to do. Very well visualized and the set was wonderful. the music was really really good too espacially since they used the original footage of om shanti om. LOVED THAT. the plot was good too and it broke my heart too. wonderful. the only part i'd change is the part where all the other bollywood hotshots came and started dancing.. it was a tad too long. other than that.. I'd give it 10 stars if i could!

a great stroy, at some points, the plot seems to be inspired by Karz, an older movie, though the story, characters and songs are 4 times that of the orignal. i would give this movie an A+. way to go, Farah Khan!

This movie is not a remake of karz... The main story is taken from a hollywood movie "Dead Again". They differ only one situation, oso is based on film industry and dead again is based on ex cop solving the problem of a woman suffering from amnesia..

Although I am not experienced with Bollywood/Hindi films, I found Om Shanti Om a regular riot, with some great songs and a thoroughly entertaining romp through the 70s period of the Indian film industry. While the second half is decidedly less of a comic act and more of a (quite poorly paced) thriller, the main relationship of the story stays in focus despite unforseen circumstances. The acting is appropriately over-the-top, while the song-and-dance sequences are wonderfully choreographed. It may not be the most solid film, but it can guarantee a hilarious satire and homage to the Hindi film industry.
