Though one of Minnelli's weaker films, this Alan J. Lerner's musical, which bears thematic resemblance to Minnelli's Gigi and Cukor's My Fair Lady, is worth seeing for Streisand's performance.

The only reason I saw this movie was because I thought Jack Nicholson was in it, but he just has a very small role. Streisand is the star and she just keeps singing, I didn't even understand what the story was about. I was too bored to care anyway.
