Critic Reviews

  • Peter Canavese, Groucho Reviews

Plenty fun: as per the Jackie Chan standard, it's total nonsense, but unpretentiously entertaining and occasionally ingenious. [Blu-ray]

  • , TV Guide's Movie Guide

The film hits escape velocity, moving straight from one phenomenal set piece to another, with no room between to catch your breath.

  • Kevin N. Laforest, Montreal Film Journal

There's little action during most of the film besides a so-so car chase and unambitous fights. Still, the film's finale is action packed and hilarious, as Jackie faces a monastery packed with bad guys.

  • Marc Savlov, Austin Chronicle

Overflowing with Chan's trademark stunt setpieces (not to mention his own goony brand of extremely broad slapstick), the film's a dazzler...

  • Chris Hicks, Deseret News, Salt Lake City

An excellent example of Chan at his comic/kick-'em-up best, blending elements of both James Bond and Indiana Jones, along with the requisite zany fights and stunts.

The film that almost kills Jackie, watch it mostly for the final act, and the chase sequence. Some good of locations, but Alan Tam is highly annoying in his sidekick role. On the good side, Jackie beats some monks, and rides a very rad 80s car.

A brilliant low budget Jackie Chan classic. Some amazing fight scenes in this!

Excellent Jackie Chan movie, one of his best

  • Dean M

Jackie Chan has amazing fight scenes with a hall full of monks and a quartet of eccentric assassins: high-heeled 70s blaxploitation vixans.

Despite being called Operation Condor 2: Amour of God, this is actually the first entry in the series. With Chan spending seven years on the series third entry, Chinese Zodiac, and it being release this later year it's a good time to check this series out. Amour of God is… More
