Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"Out for Justice harbors an incredibly simple vengeance plot loaded with enough macho sadism to satiate the action genre's bloodthirsty fans."
‑ Variety Staff, Variety
"This is Old Jack City, a place where better actors and directors have taken us frequently in the last year. This particular trip seems unnecessary."
‑ Richard Harrington, Washington Post
"One of Seagal's few decent bonecrunchers thanks to good direction by the underrated John Flynn (The Outfit, Rolling Thunder, Best Seller)."
‑ Chuck O'Leary, FulvueDrive-in.com
‑ Dragan Antulov, rec.arts.movies.reviews
"Seagal is a fascinating hero: he's not slick, he's not real handsome, he's a real strange dresser, and he doesn't seem all that nice a guy. Nevertheless, he's interesting and he's unpredictable. He gives me the creeps."
‑ Kathleen Maher, Austin Chronicle
"If you cut the beatings, you wouldn't be left with much."
‑ Charlotte O'Sullivan, Time Out
"Out for Justice only real weakness is Seagal himself."
‑ , TV Guide's Movie Guide
"Ewww! Stinky..."
‑ Rob Vaux, Flipside Movie Emporium
"It's so stupid that it's boring."
‑ Ted Prigge, rec.arts.movies.reviews
"As a courtesy to his many fans, the ponytailed action hero Steven Seagal not only attacks sleaze but also goes out of his way to examine it."
‑ Janet Maslin, New York Times
"If you're into this kind of thing, it works. If you're looking for a good crime flick, Scorsese it's not."
‑ John J. Puccio, Movie Metropolis
"Seagal's usual shoot-'em-up"
‑ James Sanford, Kalamazoo Gazette
"Seagal may be a success, but I'm just grateful he only makes one movie a year."
‑ Chris Hicks, Deseret News, Salt Lake City
