MCT:July 6, 2008Denzel Washington is the Chief of Police and is having an affair with a woman who's in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend (Dean Cain). When she finds out she's dying from cancer, she makes him the sole beneficiary and leaves him $1 million but not all goes to plan. When a house fire kills both her and her boyfriend, the Chief finds himself a direct suspect due to a few alarming facts that pop up and he must keep one step ahead of the rest of the force including his ex-wife (Eva Mendes) and wipe out traces of his involvement while tracking down the real killer. Great thriller and another great performance by Denzel.

It started off a little slow for me, but finally picked up about 30 min. in. I liked how you kept waiting for Denzel to get busted, but was able to get by until all at once. It was a predicable movie for me, but enjoyable to watch.

MCT:May 19, 2008A good action thriller. Has been copied into a mediocre Hindi movie as well. Denzel Washington's performance in this movie demands commendation. Watch this one. Eva Mendes looks quite good. One more reason to watch this one.

Denzel Washington & Eva Mendes were at the top of there game when they made this movie... It blew me away how many laws he broke to keep his affair a secret.. then with the TWIST END.. but you will have to watch it to find out

Denzel played a great part in this movie, on the edge of your seat action movie. A must for your collection, will not go wrong on this one. The twist at the end fooled me.

and here i thought i've seen all of Denzel's movies. Anyway no too much to say about it, a typical thriller movie, a cop gets framed, makes a few mistakes, ends up doing business with the wrong people.....been there, done that:P Nothing in particular about this one, but of course a very entertaining action packed movie with great actors including the very beautiful Eva Mendes.

"Out Of Time" starring Denzel Washington in the main role is a really predictable thriller, right from the start I figured what would happen and how it would end. But the movie itself is not all that bad, just nothing original and like I said very predictable.

First of all, there is something terribly wrong with this movie right off the bat. This story has been done so many times! The film also suffers from poor acting. The only really good performance is given by Denzel Washington, but the rest of the cast is unfortunately disappointing. Whoever told Eva Mendes she can act? She is one of the worst new film actresses to come along since Jorja Fox from TV's C.S.I. I really thought this film could have been made a little better if it had a better director, a better cast and a tiny bit more creative story. The film doesn't suffer completely, due to some comedic moments brought in by the best friend of Denzel Washington, a medical examiner Dr. Cabbot (played by John Billingsley). So overall, the film would be a good television movie, but not a movie movie. There are some entertaining parts, if you can get past the cliché behind it. I hope Denzel Washington picks a better movie to star in next time. Grade: C (retrieved from yahoo.com; written 10/13/03)

This was a pretty good movie except for the parts where you can't believe he kept things a secret for so long and no one ever caught on! Good storyline tho, and yes, I have watched this more than once...

This thriller takes a while to set the mood and decide on a direction it is going in its sultry Florida atmosphere. Then it's actually a lot of fun and exciting to watch Denzel Washington getting framed and trying to weasel and solve his way out of the mess he got himself into. A funny sidekick and the gorgeous Eva Mendes add up to the watching pleasure, too. Sadly, the showdown and solution is a lot more conventional than the hour before and costs the movie half a star. Still, good enough for an entertaining evening with crime.

A good thriller starring Denzel Washington and this must be my second time of viewing. It is about the police chief (Washington) of sleepy Banyan Key, Florida--who falls into a trap set by others, sinks into legal quicksand of his own making, and must race the clock to extricate himself from a series of incriminating setbacks. Lots of twists and turns and you squirm with Denzel as he is more and more inveigled into a trap set by the wiley character played by Eva Mendes
