Very enjoyable, a great understated Trhiller.

  This thriller takes a while to set the mood and decide on a direction it is going in its sultry Florida atmosphere. Then it's actually a lot of fun and exciting to watch Denzel Washington getting framed and trying to weasel and solve his way out of the mess he got himself into. A funny sidekick and the gorgeous Eva Mendes add up to the watching pleasure, too. Sadly, the showdown and solution is a lot more conventional than the hour before and costs the movie half a star. Still, good enough for an entertaining evening with crime.

  Entertaining but painfully predictable. 20 minutes into the movie i knew exactly what was going on. Chief Whitlock is not your typical Denzel role, and while he played it the best that he could, I just feel like it didn't suit him well. Also, the location of the movie was didn't make a whole lot of sense, and that wasn't the only thing. Why would a detective from Miami and his ex-wife be investigating a crime an hour away in some small town? The movie has a lot of plot holes and everything that happens is obvious, but it's still fairly entertaining.

  I like films that have a deep rooted plot and an atmosphere of deceit, seduction,murder and thrills. While this had the deceit and seduction it lacked the murder and thrills that would have made it something of a gem in crime films, but instead it settles for average instead of stetting for great. Out of Time is a classy, well thought out, well acted and very well made crime drama that has high production values and an impeccable script which is fulled by the witty and charismatic performance by Denzel Washington. But sorry to say that that can't save this film from being what you call "Recycled goods" . It's a been there done that film, but it's a really good been there done that film. It's a highly charged, atmospheric film that is great fun to watch and enjoy but sadly is nothing mind blowing. Denzel Washington( Who has done better.) Does alright here as the framed police chief, but his lack of true emotional depth and character kind of makes it a downside to the hype this film could bring if your a D.W. fan. Eva Mendes(Who is pretty good.) Is sexy as always, but in my opinion can't act very well as it shows in this movie, but none the less she tries her hardest and does do very well in this movie. But all in all the cast does a great job in this stylish crime drama. Out of Time is not movie greatness as I've said It's great fun to watch if you can make it pass the first 40 minutes of the film then it really kicks into high gear, well medium gear that is. It's not what you call " A can't miss movie" but it is a good film to watch and enjoy but besides that it's nothing really new or ground breaking. But none the less Out of time delivers.
