Rather dull, I might add.
And It's too short for it's own good, too.
But as a Anime that was on TV once, It isn't too bad, but I didn't enjoy It very much.
Hmm, an anime series. 26 Episodes which very well could have had more. Which such a broad setting, I felt the action was solid, with little time for character development. Oh, and the 'caster bullets' Gene receives during Episode 23 are awesome.
Some people didn't like this. But I freakin love Jean and the others. Though very predictable, it did open up an interesting twist in the story at the end, and in my personal opinion, opened up Mr. Joss Whedon to begin writing his T.V. series "Firefly" simply because they each had so many similarities.
I adore Outlaw Star, it has it's funny moments, and it's serious ones; the range in emotion makes it great. The plot is amazing and the animation is a unique style I've not seen anywhere else. A great anime and a must see.
I'm always amazed at how different the last two or three episodes are in an anime. Outlaw Star was an action-packed comedy for the most part, but the last two episodes were incredibly dramatic. The series started off slow, and the end seemed incredibly rushed in comparaison. I would have liked a bit more character development (especially with Suzuka, whom we only find out a bit about in the second to last episode). But overall, it was a blast ^_^
Sci-fi with style, a rocking opening theme, the coolest pistol to be held by a cooler main characters and Aisha Clan-Clan, the catgirl. The action scenes rock!
Oh where to start... the intro theme? Energetic and fun, nice rock sound to it and then you get to the anime which is absolutely hilarious... with some tense moments and fight scenese scattered throughout... granted the cat girl thing does get tiring... but she does give the other characters a chance to get riled up... it's fun, but kinda reminiscent of Firefly/Serenity...
This was a very cool series - a bit slow to start, but it got moving well. And I like cat girls...me-ow, baby. And the episode when Jim makes a friend is priceless.
This gets five stars because it accomplishes very well what it set out to do. At first glance though, I had second thoughts, but as you watch the anime, it really grows on you.
