Arm-wrestling might be far down on most viewers' list of "most cinematic sports," but Sylvester Stallone certainly goes the distance to prove the contrary in this lightweight but entertaining mid-'80...( read more

Sylvester Stallone is without a doubt the most underrated, unjustly maligned actor in the history of cinema. What a legend!
A variation on the Rocky theme with Stallone trying to win an arm wrestling competition against all the odds.
A trucker named Lincoln Hawk (Sylvester Stallone) is an Arm Wrestler to rebuild his life with his wife named Christina Marie Cutler-Hawk (Susan Blakely) is very ill to ask him to pick their son named Michael Cutler-Hawk (David Mendenhall) up from military school . Lincoln competes in the world arm wrestling competition at Las Vegas Hilton in hope is to win the grand prize: a new semi-truck & start his own independent rucking business: Hawk & Son.
I just loved watching Stalone in this one,,It choked me up also ,,the love between father and son.Another great movie staring Stalone !!
Just watched this last night for the first time in years and I freaking loved it! My favorite Stallone flick, going back to when I was just a wee one. Lincoln Hawk rocks! It has a fantastic late 80's soundtrack featuring Sammy Hagar and the soundtrack king Kenny Loggins.
this film made me wanna do 2 things iver neverdone in my life... 1 - change my surname to hawk. and 2 - punch a 12 year old as hard as i could in the face for being so fucking annoying and for looking like a half mexican lesbian midget!
I loved this movie cause it gave way to the love of a Father for his son in a way that most Men would not have been willing to do.
This is a surprisingly awesome movie. Think Rocky meets arm wrestling. The story is pretty silly to the point where you can't really take it seriously, yet you can at the same time. there is a pretty heart warming feel goodness to it that makes it fun to watch and cheer for. B-
an inspiring movie about a father and a son. it reflects a discrimination of life being a poor and an elite.
i really really love this movie.. i never had a father like the one stallone portrayed here.. i cried when i watched it, it was really moving.. i love the song too!
It was Ok I guess. It's another one of those typical 80's movie with the over sentimental moments, soppy music montages and pretty wooden acting. Oh we can't forget the annoying little kid either. But like all typical 80's movies, there is something very likable about them. i don't really know what it is you just like them. Anyway, not bad, just another 80's movie.
With this movie I've choose the song of my life...Meet me in half way" Kenny L.
Also I'm a huge fan of Stalone...he is amazing in this movie. I really mean when I say this is a surprise movie.
Do you want to watch a movie about arm wrestling? No? Well, what if I told you that it was also about child custody. Now do you want to watch it?
Been many years since I watched this but I have an idea it was a pretty weak story that rode on the wave of Stallone's fame around the time of Rocky and First Blood.
Ahaha! I remember watching this when I was younger. Afterwards, my brother and I would arm-wrestle and act out scenes from the movie. Heheh. Anyways, Sylvester Stallone sure knows how to dramatize something you wouldn't normally think as being intense or life-defining.
Always thought this was the most ridiculous premis for a movie..except maybe for that fred savage movie about video games
A great movie with Sylvester Stallone. A touching story between an estranged father and son and a vision that we can all rise above the obstacles in our lives.
I remember vey little of this movie because it's been years but I remember it was kind of the average Stallone Movie.
Arm Wrestling. Here is one of those topics where you don't see movies on everyday. Just like Balls of Fury did with ping pong. The story is actually pretty lame and somewhat corny. Basically it comes down to Sylvester Stallone arm wrestling for the custody of his son. The arm wrestling part of this film isn't so bad, but it just takes too long to get to it. The first hour of this 90 minute movie is all drama and emotion. This film tries to build up the relationship between Hawk(Stallone) and his son. It is sweet and all, but it just ends up boring. It is just too much to endure before you actually get to the arm wrestling. You have to wait even longer for the full-on matches since the film rushes through the early rounds as if it was yesterdays news. It would have been nice to have had this film revolve around the tournament itself, rather than just adding it on for the finale.
The acting is only OK. Stallone was meant for action movies and every so often he can pull off a drama. An example of a successful drama is Copland. This film is not one of his successes. I don't think most people will consider arm wrestling as action scenes either.
There are many other Stallone films out there and most of them are better than this. Try Copland if you want to see a great Stallone film that doesn't involve action.
It's stallone arm wrestling for the custody of his child... this movie blows so bad. google up the Norm Mcdonald bit about this movie. This movie sucks and blows.
