Success doesn't change you. It just brings out who you really are...

    Hmmm....

Troy Duffy's a fucking asshole then.

Decent documentary chronicling the downfall of The Boondock Saints director. He deserves the blacklisting from Hollywood...what he doesn't deserve is a sequel o...( read more)ut in theaters now. The man should never be allowed near a film set again. Egomaniac prick.

Overnight is a cautionary tale about the harsh reality of the film. It's also given extra theatrical strength due to the main character being one of almost complete fantasy. Duffy is the key element to his own demise. He's too sure of himself and has an attitude that only a mothe...( read more)r could love. Trying to launch a film AND music career, one has to admire Duffy's drive, but not the fact he is almost unlikable. An underdog story that has you on the side of the huge money grabbing corporations just has to be watched. It's a great companion to The Boondok Saints. Saints was a great film, and ten years later, Duffy now has his sequel. Let's hope for a sequel to Overnight as well.

Smart documentary. It's a must see for any film student on what not to do when you have a big production deal. Also...Boondock Saints sucks.

Isn't ironic that the filmmaker of one of my least favorite films (Boondock Saints) has become the subject of one of my favorite documentaries in years. Overnight is a important lesson for any inspiring filmmaker how self worshipping can kill your career. Seriously this is probab...( read more)ly the most unlikeable and mean person I've ever seen on screen. (Hell you have to be a egomaniac asshole to agree to doing this)
Is it a enjoyable film? Not really, Well the guy is Michael Scott if he really was a jackass and the see his rants are hilarious I can't say I enjoyed watching his downward spiral. I would say it's important for everyone who wants to break into the film industry to see just how important it is to keep your self grounded.

WOW!!!!! amazing documentary. Troy Duffy looks like a real prick in this thing. it starts off with him saying nothing is more important than friendship and as his head gets bigger and bigger friendships start to mean jack shit to him, the friends who stood by his side and help...( read more)ed with his ventures all along the way he is screaming at and and asking them "do you really think you deserve any of this money?" I would love to hate this guy but the fact is he did make an increadible movie.

Infuriating. All the opportunities we hope, dream for, are given to one man. And he destroys them worse than you can imagine. Like I said, it is infuriating.
