The incredible life of Miguel Agustin Pro serves as the subject of this reverent hagiography. Born into a mining family in January of 1891, Pro openly defied religious persecution in Mexico in spreading the word of Christ to Mexican Christians. Dedicated to imitating Christ's example despite his failing health, the sickly Pro created organizations dedicated to helping the homeless as war raged, all the while avoiding detection by vehemently anti-Catholic Mexican President Plutarco Elias Calles. But Pro couldn't lie low forever, and after being apprehended and executed by the government, after which he was officially recognized as a martyr. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
